You’re basically telling new players that they should grind 1h a day for for 8.2 content, so they can play 8.3 content. How about you stop it with this nonsense?
So everyone should play hardmode for gear in every previous expac, because you know, people worked hard for that gear and it’s now practically handed over to people.
Old content is old and shouldn’t be mandatory! Just like the whole catch-up gear. You worked hard for your 430+ gear, now it’s just being handed out to people. I don’t see you complain about that. Essences are like gear, it needs a catchup mechanic, whether it be for mains, alts, or new players. Because face it, new players can still catch up fast gear wise with world quests or M+ runs (yes, people boost friends for free).
What are you getting at? If people take me to dungeons? If you apply as a pug, you have a very little chance of being accepted with 1 essence. In raids you’ll get kicked as soon as they see that you have less DPS than a tank because you lack essences.
Are you one of those people that’s against the removal of student debt, because you’ve already paid off yours and don’t get anything from it?

I already have several Rank 4 Essences and 3s on my main and some alts. The essences are going to be useless in Shadowlands, and 8.3 is the final patch of BFA meaning we’ll be stuck with this until October or November, so if I want to compete with my healer to keep being invested in WoW why should I put in all that effort again just to get a worse version? I already did the work several times. It isn’t a matter of entitlement so much as being reasonable.
