[ADRP] What do you think is wrong Blood Elf RP

Arent most RP-PvP events just two raidgroups auto attacking eachother?
I cant speak for other belves but I wouldnt hesitate to join an unrestricted one, but the regular types sound like something I wouldnt enjoy

RP-PvP campaigns (restricted and not) expect you to make your own fun. If you go in with the expectation that it’ll be two armies clashing onto eachother, autoattacking and sometimes doing /y it’s exactly what you’re getting.

Alternatively, in the recent Plaguelands RP-PvP campaign, we saw Hand of Conquest pulling off harassing flanking maneuvers, Painted shields acting like a spearhead (acting, ehm  ) and on the opposite side, Lordamere rangers, running about, tactically assaulting the Horde forces, from stealth and range. And this is just the slightest taste. Thanks to the crossfaction language potions RP-PvP campaigns are wonderful, you get to properly converse with the opposition, banter feels more lively than ever before.

But like I said initially. If one comes there to show up and auto-attack for two hours a day, it’s exactly what they’re getting.

To add onto this, throwback to drums of war when we got some raider roleplayers to act as bait to lure Alliance into a blood knight ambush. Restricted rp pvp is what you make it. If you expect to be spoonfed then you’re in for a dull slog.

Restricted Rppvp puts a greater emphasis on tactics as just slamming your forces into the enemy Frontline is unlikely to get anyone anywhere.

Both types have their merits and I enjoy them, but being able to smash a flanking force into the enemy backline and pivoting the battle to our army’s advantage feels fantastic, and there’s nothing quite like it.

Personally I find Rp-pvp way more interesting than any dm campaign I’ve ever attended. You can only have so much fun with imaginary targets and the general /rw stuff.

But as already mentioned, restricted puts a lot more weight on actual tactics compared to just having a strong class and knowing how to play it.

I’m not gonna lie that sounds a lot better then what I was Imagining, I’ll try to keep An eye out for future events

In the southern part of Jutland it is called “bon”.

I live in the northern part, I am bewildered!

Personally I always found restricted less enjoyable than all-out RP-PvP, aside from a few cases in which both groups actually use an immersive strategy. The ‘realism’ you get is often a bit cringe ( looking at you, tanks charging in when you know auto-attacks won’t bring you down, with healer’s protection) or rogues attacking from behind in such an obvious way that would get you killed if AoE/CCs were a thing. But I guess it’s mostly casters who have a difficult time after all, as warriors, hunters and rogues must enjoy it!

My problem with Blood Elves is that (and i know not all Blood elf players are like this) a lot of people who play them seem to be the Self insert type of people, and get really moody OOC when you do something questionable to modern human standards but fits your race.

For example: Back in one of the RP-PvP events (I think it was Zeep’s battle of the Barrens one) Some Blood Elf had a massive hissy-fit over Nar’zagh stripping nude and fighting the enemy butt naked while occasionally breaking out into ritualistic dances and chants. Like what do you expect me to do, I’m a Troll, not a Human, not a Dwarf, of course I’m going to do this weird tribal stuff, it’s a part of my culture. it would have probably put me down and stopped me from doing that if not for the fact that I got plenty of messages from people saying that it was one of the Coolest/funniest things they ever saw.

So yeah, my small problem is that a small part of their community feels we should have characters who align with today’s moral standards, despite them being from different races, cultures and a whole different world.

Not all as you said but i couldn’t agree more, the HBM (Highblood Myrmidons) Are not the case of this, they do lovely RP and act like normal people what I def recommend of joining :stuck_out_tongue: Speaking of elves and all when they announced new races that are elves made me kinda think, would it get worse or would it get even worse then it could be? And yeah it was a disaster, people Rping as Highborne and people Rping as darkish elves (they were classed as Night Borne…)

It made me disappointing and then I realized that elf RP was doomed, the HBM made a chance in it what actually surprises me and they are one of the few i see around a lot.

So what I think? I think it’s lost but saved by some reasonable people around here, if we all could do a small push towards RPing as what they are then it’s actually lovely and appreciated.

Was that wording intended? It’s a little discouraging to read “everyone else sucks”.
Being guildless ain’t so bad, you know.

I never met your character so I can’t judge how interesting she is, but I don’t think going against the “beautiful” stereotype makes a character more (or less) interesting. Nothing wrong with being a beautiful elf, I think!
I see many characters that go the “powerful but unstable and eccentric” route(including my own), and many that try to not be too beautiful, out of some strange fear that playing a beautiful elf is unoriginal and bad.

To be honest, the Highblood Myrmidons had potential to be a good guild, till they became puppets, They’re a bit weak now, and don’t have any credibility, which is a shame, as they -could- have, had they played Blood Elves. The Puppet thing hasn’t worked so well for them though. It might improve, when the Plot of BfA changes! Come on…It could Change!
