The thing with world ending threats is they don’t necessarily divide your own faction into pro-anti camps. Much the same started happening back in Mists of Pandaria when Blizzard revealed Garrosh was gonna be the bad guy.
That said, you’re not wrong; people are finding ways around the current nonsense.

Why do people think that this is still going to happen when Blizzard has been slamming us with “she is a villain and has always been a villain and will always be a villain” since Blizzcon?

I don’t see a faction getting divided into loyalists and rebels a bad thing. Gives people an excuse to focus on that which might be more interesting than- I wonder what the Naga are do- oh would you look at that!
Apart from certain guilds starting the Vol’jin rebellion waaaay too early, that part of MoP era RP wasn’t so bad as I recall. Was it?

It’s great when people do find a way around the story writing that blizzard presents, I mean whilst it may be the main narrative there’s a lot more that the imagination can create from scratch to find fulfilling and enjoyable roleplay.
That being said, I can fully understand how a story some people have been so invested in over the years facing a few bumps and hiccups (or a lot of them). Deters them away from their own characters in turn, and ultimately the game itself. It’s a shame but I’ve noticed a few people I often enjoyed interacting with just disappear because they were not to happy with the story.

Despite the fact he means well, his actions only prove he is not fit to lead a faction (his allies complain that he acts too soon and endangers his people for it)
Such a shift in the story would set the bar low enough to put Horde rp in its twilight and turn it into a second life lobby equivalent
Gallywix would be better, at least he is fun and actually has a drive

The issue starts when you don’t want to take sides due to IC reasons in my opinion.
The twist will be that Me’dan will be warchief. He is…like, quarter orc.
From what I remember of MoP (I was away for some of it), much the same complaints were raised - and arguably even earlier, given the “rebellion” tensions started even earlier in the 4.0 pre-patch.
I don’t think as many players picked the path of “well let’s focus on another bit of our story until the time is ripe”, back then.
Not to mention there was a lot of… weird stuff going on there in general, with my fellow orc roleplayers acting like they ran the place in the Darkspear Rebellion.

Oh now I remember. Razor Hill camp RP. Hilarious times! MoP and its aftermath was weird. I recall people saying that you had early Darkspear rebellions, like long before Garrosh completly spiraled out of control.
But I also recall seeing myself -after- Garrosh was taken out(Going into WoD pre-patch) Kor’kron officers still acting like he was in charge and they were the grim-evil overlords of Orgrimmar still.

Baine is all broth but no beans.
He’s dull, really dull. His entire arc relies on people rescuing him or him doing stuff that gets him captured. And the fact of the entire Heritage thing with Cairne? (IF this isn’t pre breakout of Derek) then it’s just a lack of connection. The characters are saying he’s good. But is he though?

But I’m not sure if Baine will be Warchief, same with Saurfang. Only thing I’m fairly certain on is that Sylvanas won’t remain Warchief at the end of expansion.
I know laughing skull characters gets a bad rep for their rp litterally just being:
“HAHAAHAHAHAHA” Throws kodo-poop and then lol-decapitates someone, all zany!
But the female ones, is the Horde equivalant of human female rouges rping bad versions of Harley Quinn?
