Overall the roleplay that is created is not of value due to it not actually producing anything of worth at the end of the day, memorable experiences etc.

kind of a weird thing to say. ‘value’ and ‘memorable experiences’ are subjective when it comes to RP. what’s unmemorable to you might not be to somebody else etc.

I often see people complain about guilds recruiting in Cathedral Square and while I get why they might have problem with it, I have yet to see someone post an alternative. Where are they supposed to do it then?

Trade District is obvious choice, but the whole area is unusable for RP and Cathedral Square pretty much took over its role as main hub of the city. Point of recruiting is to actually recruit people, so doing it in some area that is rarely visited doesn´t make sense.
And no, not doing it isn´t an option when only small portion of playerbase visits forums or uses AA.

I took a tour to the US servers not long ago, I specifically went to Moonguard US (shut up).

Nobody RPed at the Cathedral, the main hub for the Alliance was the Mage Quarter, and that’s where guilds did their recruiting.
