Seems like PvP players are more edgy than ever before today, no wonder every PvP focused game is so toxic. For how bad WoD was, they did have pretty good balance between PvP and PvE gearing. Not quite sure whats up with these people, considering almost everyone was happy that PvP’ers got their vendor back, even those that dont PvP at all.
I’m not convinced they have got ‘more’ edgy… These are players who get a buzz out of ‘killing’ other player characters remember.
However, any time the Edgelords think they have got what they had been demanding, and by extension therefore they consider that they have ‘owned’ other players… they get very excited and noisy, making sure absolutely everyone else knows they have been ‘owned’ by the Edgelords… OP being a case in point
This thread is disgusting and I’m a PvP player.
There’s bad apples in both communities, you’re one of them. I hope you get trolled and spammed for being a hateful little baby.
Welcome back!
I hope you recovered well.
exactly my thoughts… but im afraid that blizzards nerf hammer will strike PVP vendors and gearing next patch pretty hard cuz of all this PVE crybabies who cant gear to full item lvl mythic raid gear via m+ in 5 runs lol… ye PVE is now completely useless … lmao
btw: kudos to you OP
The problem is that they don’t understand that WoW is long-form. You don’t get loot like you do in most other games, and you’re not meant to. Getting your character geared is supposed to take about 4-6 months!
It used to take a few weeks, and Blizzard tried to fill the gap left in the design with Titanforging, which nearly everybody hated for good reason… Now it takes a longer to get the base gear and people are screaming murder.
Vanilla: 4-6 items drop, 40 players to give it to
SL: 2-3 items drop, 20 players to give it to
Vanilla: This is fine
SL: Friggin’ loot disaster
WoW has attracted a playerbase who doesn’t like MMORPG’s and alienated the one that does, and this is a clear-as-day reflection of that. (And it came back for Classic in droves but then people realised it’s super old content they’ve already done)
People will then hyperbole about getting nothing for 20 runs in M+. I’m sorry m8, that’s not going to happen. I agree that M+ should give better rewards at very high level, but there needs to be a lockout. It can’t be like it was in BfA.
My sub is already cancelled so I don’t care anymore.
Calm down Erevien.
(jk)
I’ve just realized that the biggest battle in the whole World of Warcraft is not Alliance vs Horde as we’re lately usually on the same side, but PvPers vs PvErs. They should switch factions to that
Hope you guys don’t plan to use warmode bonuses then x’D
My sub is already cancelled so I don’t care anymore.
Would you say you couldn’t…
Deal With It?
Raiding in classic with the old loot system and using EP:GP is great. Loot dropping is an event after the boss kill and all wait to see what dropped for our raid group. It’s exciting and it’s great to see items drop for guild-mates who need them and that will strengthen our raid group.
For example I play Rogue and in the 40 man raid team we have 4. 3 including me are combat swords and we have one dagger rogue. 2 of us sword rogues have Chromatically Tempered Swords MH and the other sword Rogues was lagging behind on a Brutality Blade. In a recent AQ40 Fankriss dropped an Ancient Qiraji Ripper and both of us Rogues with CTS has a better EP:GP than the Rogue with Brutality Blade and could have rolled and won the item - but we both passed knowing that the other Rogue upgrading from Brutality Blade to AQR was better for the raid overall. There is also the fact we have been raiding and chatting together on Discord for 16 months & we also as humans would prefer them to get the loot as they had not had any in any while!
The fact looting is a raid wide event upon boss kill means all get to share the joy and excitement of gearing up the raid team. You don’t need drops every raid individually if you have a community and share each others joy.
SL: 2-3 items drop, 20 players to give it to
Except that it’s actually 0 to 3 loots per boss killed.
The thing is : Vanilla is an easy game, there are no mechanics overlap that means wipe in vanilla since there are no mechanics.
In modern wow however, timers are sometimes so tight that an extra dps percentage makes the difference to avoid dealing with those filthy timers.
I would also say the idea of getting gear upgrade is to get better tools to overcome greater challenges. But if the games does not give me those better tools, then how am I supposed to achieve greater challenges? Relying on guild mates?
Don’t get me wrong, I was against welfare loot shower in Legion and BFA, and still am. But there is a clear middle ground between vanilla scarcity and aforementioned loot shower.
Current loot is nowhere near to vannila, TBC or WOTLK. TBC only way you could get geat were raids with 2 drops pers boss for 25 players. Modern wow have mythic+, pvp vendor, raids with 4 difficulty levels, welfare legendary and weekly vault.
There is so many gear sources that current loot drop is nowhere close to old expansions. If Shadowlands would have TBC or Vannila desing you would propably have 1 or maybe 2 epics at this point.
Except that it’s actually 0 to 3 loots per boss killed.
No it’s not… A raid boss drops 2-3, so 1 and a bit drop per player. Dungeons drop an item per boss. M+ drops 1-2 items per 5 bosses, so 1 drop per player in 3-4 dungeons. 20 dungeons with no loot is impossible.
In modern wow however, timers are sometimes so tight that an extra dps percentage makes the difference to avoid dealing with those filthy timers.
Aaaand?
Gear still needs to not come at you all at once, the difficulty of said content is irrelevant to that discussion.
I would also say the idea of getting gear upgrade is to get better tools to overcome greater challenges. But if the games does not give me those better tools, then how am I supposed to achieve greater challenges? Relying on guild mates?
I’m arguing for the system where you do.
If you increase loot drops drastically, then you get a ton of upgrades up-front and then you don’t receive any upgrades at all for the rest of the tier. The dungeons and raids must then tuned assuming you have all the gear or you’ll kill it in a couple of weeks.
Under the system they have now that won’t happen. There’s upgrades to get better and take on harder challenges throughout the season. That’s why I wanna keep it, but people are so confused because they’re used to the faster loot. Here we are, not even 1/3rd of the way through a tier, and everybody’s like “omg I’m not even 225 yet”.
Don’t get me wrong, I was against welfare loot shower in Legion and BFA, and still am. But there is a clear middle ground between vanilla scarcity and aforementioned loot shower.
And I don’t think they should seek it. This is mostly fine, except the M+ lockout and low iLvL thing.
There are some rumours about a badge system or something. Not quite sure if there’s any substance to it, but I could get behind that as long as it’s well limited.
That will risk PVPers getting kicked from Group PVE content, if you show up decked out in suboptimal PVP gear… it used to happen back in the day. Classed as looking for a carry, on pets, mounts and transmog PVE drops…the bigger the Stat difference the more likely to be kicked, from PVE content.
Didn’t mind then, wouldn’t mind now.
I have a different set on priest for raid anyway, to people who play both types of content it wouldn’t really be that much of an issue.
Just give PvErs a vendor again. No reason why there shouldn’t be one with how horrible the drop chances are. Being forced into PvE content in BfA was horrid, now the shoe’s on the other foot and people are still complaining, I just hope Blizz are listening this time
Just give PvErs a vendor again
PvE had never vendor with high end gear. It was always few items what has been 1-2 tiers behind. So even when you get vendor he definitly wont sold 220+ items.
Seemed alright in BfA. Save your residuum and buy the pieces you needed.
And yeah, I think 220 shouldn’t be available straight off the bat, for anyone.
Maybe higher keys/raid bosses, the higher the upgrade?
I can alredy see another giant problem wit this. Currency should be given only to players what do no get gear so players what got gear wont end up geared in 2weeks in full mythic set. How exactly you want solve problem where player gets items he doesnt want and same time do no get currency becouse he got item.
