I remember when I was a kid and my parents used to buy me tons of lego things and they were never as expensive as they are today. Especially with nothing really changing in the way they’re made.
Then again, I’m a 80s kid, so things were far far far far far cheaper than what they’re now. The same for Warhammer things, I remember buying a pack of 6 marines or whatever the number was for like £4.99, but now that same box is like £20.
Me and my wife, we used to have drink a lot on the weekends when we were dating and such. We would go through a full bottle of vodka, beers & wine.
When we had our little girl, we both stopped. We never had any addiction or withdrawal, but it was the habit. If you can kick the habit, then you’re fine. It’s the same for smoking, it’s having to find something else to distract your mind from wanting to have a smoke because your brain got use to that routine.
Is that a reference to your beloved Andrew Tate? I have zero idea what you are talking about at this point. I have no interest in what the 8 post alt of someone has to say.
I’ve ignored you. Come back on the character you usually post on.
I would prefer my groups to have players who use 1 button macros and pay attention to the mechanics of the fight vs players who tunnel vision on their rotation and get hit by stuff that strain the healer or oneshot them.
Sure, players who can do their rotation perfectly and also do mechanics perfectly are ideal, but just like many things in life, perfection is not common and should not be expected.
Depending on how long between skills this GCD penalty is, they will probably be worse off in terms of damage.
But I think people who will use the 1 button assist thing, will not be in normal, heroic raids or M+ runs. As people will notice it very quickly. If the raid leaders/group leaders are all about pushing out as much dmg as possible from people or healing etc, then those people using the 1 button addon will end up being kicked due to lack of damage.
But also, if people are using a 1 button thing, they also probably don’t pay attention to mechanics of a fight.
I was in a ToP at last boss and there was a ghost just sitting at the side on its own. I was staring at it thinking “What is that ghosts doing over there? How did it even get there? Why has no one stopped it being there? Should I stop it?”
Them boom, scythe tank buster nothing up, RIP. With one button my massive level of 0 IQ play would have gone unpunished. I could probably just shut my eyes. It’s not like it’s difficult to check health then use a CD and maybe FR. Which I didn’t do.
It’s just the way those individuals are from the years I’ve played WoW.
So, let’s think about it logically.
You have those who will use this feature due to disabilities etc. That’s fine, normally those individuals play casually or are within guilds who know about their condition, and it will never impact the general player base in terms of PUGs. They’ll do their thing and have a great time being able to do more things etc.
You have the super-duper casual player who pays for boosts, don’t move out of AoE on the floor, can’t read a quest log, doesn’t want to put any effort into their play and thus affecting the others in their group. Those people will be using the addon and doing something else in their mind as they’ll just stand there pressing 1 button and not giving a care in the world.
I think number 2 is the one that some people have a problem with. Anyone with an ounce of common sense will not batter an eyelid at number 1. Of course, you’ll have the super salty individuals, who will always find something to complain about and they themselves probably already use Hekili and don’t really push higher content and just stick to normal or heroics. Maybe they’ll try and push higher M+ keys, but will fail due to thinking they’re better than they actually are.
Anyway, I think if we were to say out of 100 people, 90 of those will be the lazy people, who will find more ways to be lazy and do less. The other 10 will be those with a disability, who will be excited about that chance to do more, than what they’re currently able to do.
I honestly do not see how these people will get even worse if they have less to do.
Perhaps I am too naive and I am trying to see the best in humanity…
I do however think that some of them would use a mouse macro to make combat completely automatic.
I’m someone who expects the worst out of everything, so when something good happens I’m always nicely surprised
Oh yeah, I think we’ll see a little increase in terms of people finding ways to automate their gameplay to turn into a bot, without using full botting software.
One thing I do see happening, is people will test out the 1 button thing and find out which class benefits from it the most and pushes out more dmg, than someone who is manually doing everything.
So I foresee a ton of new enhancement shamans in the future!
To be fair to them, I doubt anyone will think that you’re cheating just because you’re in a group filled with them.
This is off-topic but still related:
When I was in primary school, there was this kid in my class whose name was Joey, Joey had a habit of always farting when the teacher put us in groups of 7 and immediately blaming someone else to distance himself.
