Already hate the new UI

It seems that the dragontrash expansion has already disappointed a lot of you

And it’s not so strange considering that retail has been Epic Fail for a good 10 years

But I’m glad that retail tourists are finally starting to leave WotliK and stop whining about stuff that doesn’t belong in WotliK

Some people are stuck in the same place  you expect the wow community to move forward?
are you crazy?
 People by default don’t like change
the UI is fine they are hating just because it is changing something that was same for past 10 years and they can’t stand that fact…

Don’t know how to scale the chatbox, they removed the arrow so you cant drag to resize the box, any way to enable the arrow in the options menu?

There will always be some people that will struggle with it in the beginning. You can’t just go for decades with something just because of that.

While in edit mode you get the arrow in the bottom right corner on the chat.
It’s a bit translucent so can be difficult to spot.

Yes some people have preferences when playing a game…it’s shocking they don’t all think like you…shocking

I don’t get why they would provide the preset options “Modern” and “Classic” for UI appearance when “Classic” in fact doesn’t provide the classic UI. That being said, all those parrots suggesting to “just click classic option to get your classic interface back” are clearly clueless.

Yeah, i don’t understand classic preset as it just moves player frame to the corner while everything else stays the same lol. Four horizontal bars at the bottom would be somewhat classic like.
Also, artwork should be item for itself instead of being component of action bar one, so people who want them can place them next to action bars X.

The bar arrangement with four horizontal bars á two bars and 18 (?) slots per row was indeed what made the difference. It aligned the bars in a flat hierarchy therefore provided better interface filling of screen edges and more free space in the screen center. Now you need to sacrifice classic frame animation in order to get the same effect when a gazillion addons were able to do so before already…

This might be a long stretch, but for someone who’s a visual learner, is there anyone who can direct me to someone on YT who’s going through how this new UI thingy works?

Im really trying to like it, but yeah, Im struggeling, but Im sure if someone has made a vid that I can follow step by step, for someone as daft as myself… Maybe I can learn how to?

Actually it would have been a good idea for Blizzard to have done a video fully explaining all the bits and bobs. Discussing keyboard, console use and accessibility.

Might have been a good marketing tool for the game ?

I don’t know if it is a bug or not, but I am finding that when my bags are open and I am trying to move stuff I can’t as the action buttons UNDERNEATH my bags get priority. Which is a shame. :face_exhaling:

I don’t have any addons enabled. Is it just me ?

What mog are you using for the dice head piece?

Nothing… I guess Im just bugged?

Do you ever have somth positive to say?

Are you just a grudgy person inside out?

Are you just rolling and trolling?

What do you eat tonight?

Nope. It’s a problem with the UI (surprised pikachu face). if you’ve moved things away from their default location the bags (and vehicle diagram, armour damage diagram except they appear under the toolbar) treat the edge of the screen as the right point to open instead of beside the toolbars. It actually makes it impossible to recreated the old UI as the bottom toolbars will be covered by bags (like you said) . (At least for me with the scale I need).

If you reset your righthand toolbars (4 and 5) to default location it should fix this for them. Obviously the default for 1,2 and 3 are nowhere near the old locations so if they are moved they will still get covered.

That is not Classic UI…have you actually logged on classic to see what Classic UI actually looks like? Lol…you can possibly be that clueless.

It’s really not, the new UI down to every texture is incredibly irritating and bland.

There needs to be a way to get back to the old UI otehrwise the game is unplayable for quite a few people, myself included, everything about the UI is horrendous and it ruins the gameplay experience.

Time will do nothing, people will just not play the game.

Really need that Classic UI addon come asap, the new UI completely ruins my gameplay experience. This isn’t about getting used to something, it’s straight out irritating and extremely uncomfortable with the way it looks. It’s all wrong and alien. for WoW.
Especially the new cast bar and health bar, it’s immersion breaking.

Nothing changed its awesome

Thanks for your answer, but I wasn’t trying to get a similar look to the old one. My group frame info, is above those mini bars, so it is a bit easier to check on if needed.

The small extra action buttons are not for spells rotations or anything, just handy for regular items such as mounts, potions or utility stuff really.

So it is fine if they are covered up when my bags are open.

Unfortunately, the open bags don’t get priority so I can move items in my backpack.

The idea was for us to have the freedom to customise, but there are still some teething problems it seems…

I’d only moved my bars a small bit so setting back to default wasn’t too much difference. But this UI seems like it wasn’t tested beyond ‘does it work the way it starts off’.

After moving bars I had portals opening out off screen rather than towards the middle. It just seems like there are so many little things that cause irritation when trying to resolve them. I’ve spent more time looking for addons in the past 3 days than I did in the past 18 years. It’s ridiculous and a lot of the issues were raised on Beta and PTR.

It definitely comes across as a style over substance change.

For those wanting the rare silver dragon border back; there’s an addon: Rare Dragon.
