There are some QoL improvements that I’d like to see added to Anniversary servers and I’m curious what the community thinks about these:
Modern Auction House - The original AH is slow and inconvenient. It’s prone to exploitation where people will list items at a low buyout price in order to get ahead. You can’t easily buy the amount you need because item stacks are fixed. It’s overall slower than the modern auction house system. I don’t see a reason not to have it on Anniversary as it was already introduced to regular Classic.
Cataclysm Talent Interface & Talent Preview - I’d like to see the Classic interface reworked completely to allow for all three talent trees to be displayed at the same time, in full length. I also think that you should be able to preview talents before applying them similarly to the setting in WotLK and beyond. You can already have both if you install the Talented addon.
Professions Tab - Added in Cataclysm and displays your profession progress instead of you having to look in skills under character panel. I think it would be neat to have on Anniversary.
Dragonflight’s Profession UI - In addition to the professions tab, they could also add retail’s profession UI. It’s bigger, has a search bar and you can favorite recipes.
Gear Set Manager - Self explanatory I think. For now you can use an addon but I think this should be baseline.
Pings and World Markers - Also self explanatory. Nice qol for raiders.
Expanded Quest Log Size - This one might be a bit controversial, but I think the quest log size should be bumped up by at least 5.
Quest Objectives on the Map - Added in WotLK, could be easily integrated on Anniversary realms. I think it might as well be because most people use a guide addon anyway.
Map Pins - In Dragonflight, they made it so that you can place pins on the map, and if you did, you’d be able to see it in the game world as well. Useful for when someone needs to find Mankrik’s wife.
Increased Nameplate Distance - Why wait for TBC when you can just introduce this now? Especially when you can already make enemy names gigantic with accessibility options.
Achievements - This might also be an unpopular take for Classic but I’d like to see achievements on Anniversary servers. Assuming it’s going to progress to Wrath anyway, I don’t see why they shouldn’t be introduced earlier. Achievements as they were in Classic are not as abundant as on retail either way, so they are a cute way to track your journey’s progress more than anything.
Increased Draw Distance - This one is a personal wish more than a quality of life but I’d like to see modern WoW’s increased draw distance on Anni. As it is right now the draw distance is neither short enough nor long enough to avoid seeing pop-ins in the distance, which I think is really immersion breaking.
