Layering was added to alleviate server stress, not farming mats and XP.
This is why layering was a bad idea through and through.
They should at the very least make an example out of the ones using layering to farm mats (banning players for swapping layers by joining groups is too broad, you’ll catch a lot of innocent players in the crossfire).
When you switching group every 30 sec for hours you are clearly not an innocent player anymore.
Clearly, but how do you separate them from the ones who just invited a guild member who happened to be on a different layer?
Like I said, it’s too broad.
Everything is logged devs could generate a filter command to check statically how many layers a character jump in a day or in a hour, if it’s more than the average during the launch or another amount, this player should receive a proportional penalty.

It’s not just top l33t guilds doing this, channels are full of “inv to layer plz”. This is Blizzard’s fault and their stupid decision making. Classic is now some kind of sci-fi dystopia where players constantly hop to different universes.

well seems like a good reason to ban them, as that’s literally an exploit.
can’t blame them too much since blizzard decided layers was a good idea in the first place.

just like i don’t remember being silenced for 24 hours for saying “f****t” in world chat.
all in all, blizzard promised us the classic experience, and this is far from it… and yes, the dungeons are piss easy too… i can literally tank just as well as a warrior in all dungeons i have done so far… which was next to impossible in vanilla, playing Enh shaman… not saying i shouldn’t be able to do that just that it wasn’t even an option in the before-time.

Just abuse it yourself until they turn it off. All you can do. I leveled from 30 to 51 without much effort in a day through doing dungeons in a 10 man group. And this thread reeks of jealous kids.
I can’t help but feel relieved i’m not on Gehennas though… The best classic guild in the world fully geared in raid tier farming and camping players and blocking off blackrock mountain on all layers when pvp ranks release and when normal sane people start becoming 60. Sounds fun.
Everyone had their chance to abuse exactly the same everyone else did, it’s not their fault that you’re a dumbass.

Economy is broken now APES will run the markets now… people just don’t understand the implications, game is broken beyond repair unless they roll em all back and warn them that anymore exploitation’s they get banned, but blizzard have gone soft.

Any sane person is using layering at this point. Blizzard never stated it’s against the rules and frankly i can’t see what rule that would breach.
The fact that Blizz hasn’t banned them yet is a giant slap in the face to all of us and reeks of a two-tiered system.

Haven’t seen anywhere it have been described you can’t ‘transfer’ to another layer to farm. APES using a technology which is available if Blizzard don’t want this they will remove it - just as they did with the split XP for 6+ man raid in low levels.
They are not gonna get banned for using a feature in the game.
