People should know their bad reputation from private servers. They abuse cross faction cooperation and literally everything that is possible.
People should have avoided them by picking different server. You still have a choice, play on different server or free transfer when it becomes available. Gehennas is doomed.
Unlikely blizzard will do anything for now, they still have many other more important things to do. But yeah, they should.
Layering is not a GAME mechanic, it’s a server mechanic players shouldn’t handle that part manually, it’s clearly an unintended behavior / a bug.
And abusing a Bug it’s what is called an Exploit.
They need to be banned asap.
None of you are even level 60, neither are you probably even playing on gehennas, much less horde on Gehennas (i am). Layers being abuseable was seen in the beta, and it still remained as it was then. Its a side effect that was probably considered and ignored. They chose to still have it, and players WILL use the layers to their advantage if possible. Not just APES, join world chat or a decent guild and you will see non stop “layer inv pls”.
The economy is boosted yes, a lot of stuff will become dirt cheap like devilsaur. Some things like lotuses could become cheap or just get hoarded for the future. It has an impact on the game for sure, but it will even out with time, especially with new raid releases some things become obselete. It isnt the end of the world, and neither is it an issue that can be focused on one guild. Banning APES wont change anything when every player over 40 has used the raid exp bug and layer hopping for whatever purposes. You are being completely illogical and are out for blood just for the sake of it, perhaps just to get a rush out of seeing the mighty fall (and not to players but to a banhammer, which is pathetic).
Ban them and roll em back, they need to come down hard or this is the tip of the iceberg if they don’t.
Blizzard would never of allowed this few years back, they become Soft or are ally’s of APE.
I dont know much about these APES or what they are doing but there seem to be alot of complaints about them on the forums lately.
I´d just like to give some friendly advice that if these players are indeed exploiting and disturbing the server economy in ways to their advantage,
the best thing you can do is report the players from the guild who does it.
Blizz system is very simple like that, You need around 5 people to report a player for a reason and it basically automatically suspends them until blizz reviews it. (Think it is 24h). The downside to this is that the system is also a pretty weak and can cause innocent people to get banned for no reason if a bunch of people decide to report someone just for the luls and trolling.
Layering has more or less messed up mine and many other players Classic experience so far, and I’d to know if there’s any plans on releasing new and fresh phase 1 realms alongside all the existing ones?
Fresh realms with no raid exp bug and realms where layering won’t and can’t be abused to farm thousands of gold, materials and exp in an instant.
Ofc. we’d have to make it so players from existing realms won’t be able to transfer to these new ones to bring their corrupted and abusive economics with them.
The whole point of those gathering resources is that they are limited and can be traded.
Any first a cheating guild gets isnt really a valid first.
Well, Blizzard mindlessly decided to make this a viable way of playing Classic.
Now I’m just waiting for a proper re-release of fresh new realms with no cheating allowed to relive the true Vanilla Blizzlike experience.
being able to hoard massive amounts of black lotus and devilsaur leather can actually screw an entire server-faction’s economy, affecting everyone in the process. If they have near unlimited amounts of these when phase 2 kicks in and layers collapse entirely, they can make enough gold to buy the content of the entire AH, or will sell things for a very high price because X gold will mean less to them than to another non-bug-abusing player. This is not a matter of “everyone plays as he wants”.
And that is the problem. Blizzard allows people to earn money by using mechanics that I am sure Blizzard did not think would cause this much trouble. I agree that if its allowed, its allowed. The responsibility is Blizzard for not doing anything about it.
And its sad that it pays to exploit the game in a way that will mess up for everyone else.
I am waiting for a new fresh realm where layer exploiting is not possible. Lets hope Blizz bans the cheaters or make new realm for the ones who want to play honest.
Let them do it. As a horde player on a different server it’s funny to watch how a few gnomes ef up their server and the alliance.
This is what many fail to grasp. When the layers are gone the farming of the high tier materials (leather, herbs, ore) will become a much harder and much more time consuming process. Especially on PvP realms.
Now, APES have already amassed ridiculous amounts of the aforementioned goods. When P2 comes they will funnel these into the economy and they will effectively take over the market. They will dictate the prices.
