what are you talking about? they did not exploit a bug to get world first. legitimatly everyone in the world that was closing in on the race for WF did this…every single guild. That’s an even platform.
Are you suggesting some guys out there where going for world first and not doing this? If so who are they please?
Did actually any guild aim for WF and was there even competition as for example method had early on said that they do not im for it and many people in their event had nothing to do with their actual roster.
And I do not think wf is even an issue here, but - if (and I use word if) anyone exploits a bug, then everyone has to be punished on same terms and if they did not then do not name call.
I don’t know exactly. I think Method were paid alot of money to do it but knew they couldnt win.
But it doesnt stop the feeling that it felt like an insult to alot of people, like they actually thought “Private server guilds are just big fish in small ponds” or whatever
But why would anyone think that ? I mean if i.e. Nost was well made server with minor differences from vanilla, why would anyone presume that end-gamers would be any different from retail end-gamers. Makes no sense. It is often not issue of skill, but issue of mindset that makes people good in their game - even when bosses are simpler. And many private server players that I know have very goal oriented mindset.
I agree but Asmongold for example said exactly that. I heard Sco said he researched APES and said they were nothing to worry about but I don’t know if thats true.
150 years ago everyone in the USA had slaves. It was considered a sign of social status if you could buy a slave.
^this is how you sound defending people who used this exploit. Do I need to make an even more obvious example or will you finally understand that “it’s not wrong if everyone does it” is a fundamentally wrong way of thinking?
Stop defending APES. And stop defending people who used this exploit. You are NOT helping yourself, seriously.
And for F’s sake, stop trolling by saying we’re jealous. It’s both funny and pathetic because you’re both not getting the point and supporting them.
Asmongold is just some dude who hasnot achieved himself in wow anything notable for very long time AFAIK. For example I did not know anything about Apes, but how can I say if they good or bad if I have no idea who they are. Asmon just wanted to look cool. But even from retail gamer POV he is just a dude from stream. If anyone wants to label retail players based on asmon, then it wouldn’t be fair
They made a tweet or something 2 weeks advance about their goal or something. If I’d not bene rogue (mistake choise) and not had 16k queue, i maybe 50+ or 60 too because my friends have been leveling in dungeons and farms,
I do not know what reasons Method had to not take part - interest or anything else, but they said it advance - weeks that they just cover the event, not take part.
It’s something a lot of people used. And was known about before the launch. If Blizzard wanted to adress it then, they should have. I honestly don’t see the point in being upset over it. It was part of the game, and it was used to perfection. Clever use of game mechanics. Suggesting that their achievements are illegitimate and should be punished is retarded.
And no you are jealous, or mad. Apes or Progress would have gotten world first in either case, people are just looking for something to rage about. And soon you will move on to the next thing to be upset about.
Well in general i find that disrespecting anyone for no reason is silly. If someone is bad, say it. Someone is good, say it. if you THINK someone is bad, explain why, and if you THINK someone is good - explain. This random foaming is what a lot of clickbaiters do and streamers most commonly try to entertain to make subs flow.
I have not followed the man, I have seen his statements posted here, but while I hear when someone does sometyhing cool in retail (and now in classic) due forums and community then most streamers have not done anything 'hearing worthy on recent times.
And for me all fans can and should coexist - thsoe from private, those just for classic and those from retail and as long as I am around I keep fighting for the fun community instead toxic and offensive community
That’s what I mean… the exp rates were off, but not so grossly nor obviously that it seemed like a bug. They realised that their exp/hour was greater in larger groups and rolled with it, like what most people are doing.
Let’s be real, they’d have been world first with or without this glitch lol
The reason they or many others won’t get banned is cause blizz messed up as well.
If this was around for 3 months and they did nothing about it, you can’t turn around and say, “Actually this is an exploit, you’re all banned”. Just look how quickly they fixed it, if it was an easy fix they would have been addressed the first month in Beta with statement given out. If this is true, Blizzard knew this was in-game and rolled with it
Due to this I think anyone would think, “okay, it’s fine to use this cause it was around in vanilla?” Just like they re-implemented many bugs and other exploits for the sake of #nochanges
Yes, that’s exactly what I’m suggesting because that’s how it was.
I don’t care about that. I knew it would be them anyway - that’s why I didn’t roll on Gehennas. However, I do care that they got it through exploits. Twice in a single post, your moral compass is completely off.
The issue was known to Blizzard and they had their chance to fix it. They didn’t.
What they did, what a lot of people did, was something that was not adressed. Everyone had their chance to do so, and race was fair. If someone decided not to do so is not because they believed they took the high road, they were just stupid enough not to use it.
When you suggest they should be banned, or punished, you need to do the same to everyone that had at any point gained a single point of experience from being more than 5 while in a dungeon. Think about that for just one moment. Then you realize how stupid it sounds.
