I’m also on the verge of making another character, same class, race and gender, because I don’t like the hairstyle and the lack of markings of my current raid-geared lvl 60.
I’d like a paid or free service that allows us to change at least 3 things: hair color, hair style and markings/piercings. Give it a 3-month cooldown if you want. Would be a good start. Then add a few other options in TBC.
Comparing such minor services to transmog or race / gender / faction change in retail is absurd.
I doubt they will do it though during Classic, even though things like 4 bag slots, jackets that look like skirts, layers (arguably the worst offender), built-in threat API weren’t in Vanilla either.
I agree. It disturbs me how people care SO MUCH about someone else’s appearance or character name that they get agitated at the thought of them changing their haircut. I don’t see a problem with offering an appearance change or a name change for £19 with a 90 day cool down. I’d pay right now.
I actually quit this game because my OCD couldn’t handle the permanent-ness of the appearances. Come back to play it a bit more because my friend wanted to start it.
It has been written so many times and the nochanges zealots have been defeated over and over on this issue but I frankly see no hope. It will just remain the same because nochanges is now a new religion and has its logical boundaries.
Now, barber shop (ONLY AND ONLY FOR HAIR MODEL AND COLOR) is a good addition to the game and has no bad effects on anything about the game whatsoever.
Transmog etc. is bad for the game and changes a lot of things, for instance, if you see that gnome warrior with full rank 14 gear and as.candy around the corner, you might change your way because he is geared and you don’t want any of that. In classic, you can recognize items by their looks easily because they are limited and meaningful, and estimate your opponent’s power according to that.
Hair color has nothing to do with this. You won’t say that “ey dud this nom has green ponytails ima go hide ma kid and ma wife”. It has absolutely no effect on the game, or the immersion or anything. Gnome likes green, gnome picks green hair, then he gets a new shoulder, changes it to blue. He does this in barber shop where you can’t have a crouch surgery like the shadowlands shi but you can only change your hair.
Easy af.
