In my opinion newer FF’s have gotten worse because Hironobu Sakaguchi quit Square. Since then Square wasnt the same anymore. Unfortunately They started to make different games. He made first FF’s, also Chrono series, Xenogears and many other brilliant jRPG’s. His games was an art. After that Square literally got lost. All games they made was bad, they had to rebuild it many times. Sometimes without any effect. Also they killed immersion of their games, by aggressively putting ads into their games. It made Square look very desperate. Most mmorpg players probably knows nothing about Square and that’s why they’re overhyping it right now, but it’s definitely not good studio to trust. Very unstable. They will face great disappointment in the future. My bet is that once they’ll refund the cost of FF14 (after fails from years ago), they’ll put this game into maintenance mode. Same as FF11. They won’t risk and put more money into it. They’ll focus on making newer FF’s.
I would be lying if I said it hasn’t been a challenge at times, especially knowing once you have it it’s incurable and the lifestyle changes it forces upon you. Right now I am dealing with an ulcer on my foot that simply refuses to heal due to other small factors, diabetes being the main one.
The wound in question has so far taken up 1 and a half years of my life, and as I am primarily a manual worker because I love working with my hands, (gardener… go figure) it has devastated my life workwise. But I will overcome it.
I don’t really know the exact reasons for him liking my post and replying the way he did, I wouldn’t like to speculate in case I am wrong.
Which reminds me.
@Baltic if you’re reading this, I want to apologise for the way I spoke to you a few days ago. it was wrong of me and even though I was having a very rough time it’s no excuse to react in the way I did, and I am ashamed of what I typed. You didn’t deserve it and I’ve seen from further posts that you actually are a decent fellow. Please accept my apologies.
@Khaaz. I agree. FF11 was an absolute travesty of a game.
But definitely have a go at FF7. I would recommend you play the original PS1 incarnation first before you play the remake. Even though the graphiocs now look very ropey, it’s an absolute masdterpiece in story telling.
Plus it’s the first videogame to make me cry, and still brings a lump to my throat and a deep desire to not so much destroy the perpetrator, but to humiliate him first…
(Which i do by lobbing megalixirs at him to keep him alive)
It’s all good, Apology accepted
PvP is a joke in FF, the community throws a hissy fit whenever Square tries to improve it. No one does PvP, massive part of the game for me, especially as someone who isn’t into roleplaying, I really want to slice in up some of them bards.
Oh no, whatever shall we do, the dramatic intro of sipping a McDonalds coke guy will leave WoW and his followers with him…
Also there’s no pro scene in FF14. No esports.
I don’t see a problem with that. WoW implementing the eSport garbage into it is what’s killing the game.

Yep, that’s exactly what I want to do I’ll probably play it on psp console, cause it’s possible to emulate ps1 games on it.
How?
So you mean esport is killing LoL, CS:GO, Fortnite, Rocket League, Fifa too?
Mr Eridu, sorry, but it’s not 2005 anymore. Esport is something what leads games to the top. No matter what genre it is. WoW without esport scene wouldnt be top1 mmo anymore for sure. That’s what make WoW different these days from other mmorpg’s.
You basically listed PvP-based extremely competitive games from other genres. WoW is an MMORPG where PvP isn’t even the main focus of the game.
When you look at the viewership for AWC or MDI it’s laughable.
every top WOW streamers outside of Asmongold do high arena pvp , high m+ or world first raiders
if wow would have no ‘’ esport ‘’ , wow would die faster than you think , MMO are just dying anyway , if your game has no audience on Twitch , nobody want to play your game
And they’re all boring af to watch and hence why most have low number of concurrent viewers. Asmongold has more concurrent viewers than all the other WoW streamers combined.
Asmongold is Asmongold , now he can play what ever game , he will still have lot of viewers , less if he play others game than WOW , but he will still have 60-70% of his viewers
That’s my point though. It’s not the game that’s interesting but the streamer. Nothing in WoW is appealing to watch to most people. Real eSport games have 5-6 times more concurrent viewers than WoW.
WoW will never be a real eSport game because it was never made to be one. All those others listed have.
anyway i don’t know why you hate esports like this maybe bcs ur bad idk , so weird to hate on ‘’ esport ‘’ , every top game now are esports game , it’s just fact , if wow would not have competitive aspects , the game would die faster than you think , did you watch the world first nathria ? they had 150k viewers + only on Limit stream
Pretty stupid conclusion. I never stated I hated on eSport. I watch LoL, DOTA2 AND Fortnite tournaments and I enjoy them. I just don’t think WoW is an eSport game.
And I’m pretty sure WoW can do just fine without eSport stuff. It’s got incredible marketing and is a very well known franchise.
Guild Wars 2 had esports too. Years ago. People was laughing at their views which was few times lower than WoW’s views, and then Arena Net stopped supporting it there. And you know what? It affected this game very hard. You know what happened? This game mode literally died there. Right now it’s full of bots and hackers. Almost noone is playing it there.
Viewership is not most important. It’s better to have niche esports around your game than nothing. Because even niche esports makes your game more alive.
Esport scene don’t affect your gameplay at all, if you’re not interested in it then it changes nothing for you actually. While not having esport will affect it for sure. WoW without esport scene wouldnt be top1 anymore and will be much less popular.
WOW is still at the top of MMO because it is the most competitive MMO, lot of players from league of legends plays WOW , it’s the same community , they share a lot of players , lot of lol pro players plays WOW .
Esport scene don’t affect your gameplay at all
It does though. Because then everything is built and balanced around the eSport scene.
And I’m pretty sure what hurts GW2 is mostly its garbage marketing while wow has no such issues.

Got a proof for that statement?
Exacly. Without competition WoW would be the same as any other mmo which is story focused. Like eso, ff14, gw2. Competition is something that makes WoW unique and better from other mmo’s.
I have lot of friends thats play lol and plays wow when they want to chill , it’s less toxic but still competitive with pvp , m+
and i can name you lot of pro players from lol , that play wow .
1 pro players from EU , got fined , because he was playing WOW before playing a pro match on stage
