Ah yes the unbalanced PvP where you need to reach rating in order to become stronger and then have the advantage over other players. The PvP where most players can’t even reach 1600 rating. Very competitive indeed.
Or M+ where your personal score is only important if you want to pug and otherwise you just do it to gear up or to challenge yourself and have fun.
yes this is like every other esport game , 80-90% of the players are below platinium in lol
I don’t recall any other competitive game having anything else than pure skill being the factor in climbing rating.
In WoW gear plays a major role as well.
The struggle is real. Managed to do it in 197 gear but the people we faced, not exactly fair. (Duelist / Rival)
It’s a game. By definition its purpose is players to have fun.

lol i’m sure if you give a 200 ilvl char to a gladiator player or top 0,5% players , he will still get 1800+ rating easily .

It’s not that hard to get decent gear in modern WoW actually. It comes naturally while playing
Tell that to most people this late into the season. People who face players 20 ilvls above them and don’t have the previous experience of a gladiator to make up for that handicap.
unlucky for them , sometimes you have to lose , because of the content drought , pve players full geared started to pvp for fun , like me , i had no rating , and went in pvp facing 30k hp players , happens , just go next games .

Look you can want WoW to be an eSport. However it will never become a real eSport because it was never meant to be one. Comparing it to real eSports is frankly insulting to those games.
WoW never became the top MMO because it was a super competitive eSport game. Did those 1M viewers on twitch watch Classic streamers in 2018 because Classic was an eSport?
i don’t want wow to becomes an esport game , i just want WOW to have ‘’ esport ‘’ side of the game like with M+ , PVP .
yeah WOW started to lose players when esports exploded , specialy when League of Legends came out , with esports exploding + streaming , league of legend is a better game for streamers
Not really. WoW started losing players when its design philosophy shifted and when the Devs started making some questionable decisions that ultimately weren’t received well by the players.
