It’s just meaningless. He doesn’t care about the story, so he’ll be bored after playing for an hour at most.

Some others have recommended he boosts but he’s not keen.

He’s wasting his time even trying the game if he’s going to end up not caring about the story. It’s a Final Fantasy game first, MMO second. Story is king. If he tries it and dislikes it because he doesn’t want to deal with story, then it’s best he quits early frankly. He’s just wasting his own time otherwise.

He said Dark Knight looked good… my guess is one of the Human races

Thing is he can’t just be one until he gets far enough into the story.

you look more like one of his followers than me, how many accounts have you made on twitch to call him bald?

This sadly, and honestly, the first 6-7 hours of which he will stream is ARR and that is awful cut scenes and fetch quests that are just really really dull. Maybe do a few fates? Even then, the MSQ really doesnt get going for a good few hours.

It’s sad to recommend boosting but for his purposes it would be best.

Indeed excellent story in ff14 : D

If someone says that ff14 has good story then this person probably never played any decent rpg ._.

That’s because the first 20ish hours are in ARR, which isnt great at all, the game is a slog to get through but it does get much better as things go on, just it’ll need time.

Or with time you’re just getting used to it and your expectations are already so low at this point

How much did you play?

It is difficult to compare to single player games. Surely it doesn’t beat a Xenogears or a Chrono cross, but it’s pretty close to the same level. Shadowbringers in particular does something no mmorpg done before. It gives a glimpse at what the MC was doing before you took control of them.
I cannot express how amazing it is that my MC in FFXIV feels like someone in the world rather than some troll no-name champion no one really actually knows and whose footprint gets deleted every 2 years.

No, ARR is generally pretty bad by FF standards, the devs themselves have literally hacked away at it as best as possible to try and streamline before through this and into Heavensward. The game needs time for the characters to flesh out as well, e.g. Marauder (melee) is pretty meh into 30s when it starts getting really fun and interesting.

Anything beyond ARR is brilliant.

I’d say FF14 now is up there with some of the greatest rpgs in terms of story and engagement. I am not a story guy, but it absolutely grabs my attention, soooooo well written.

I went through the whole story. I work for a gaming portal in my country and I was doing reviews of some older FF’s and newer ones.

It is difficult to compare to single player games.

If the main thing what some mmorpg has to offer is story, then it should be good as in single player rpg’s. Othwerwise there’s no point in playing it. Waste of time. There’s already plenty of brilliant rpg’s on the market and there’s never enough time to play them all. So it’s not worth wasting time on games like ff14.

I cannot express how amazing it is that my MC in FFXIV feels like someone in the world rather than some troll no-name champion no one really actually knows and whose footprint gets deleted every 2 years.

At the begining it was interesting when your character is very important in the story and almost everything happens around him, however with time it gets annoying. It also feels like story can’t move without your character. It’s bad especially for mmo. When story actually never ends. So with time it’s very weird. While in single player rpg’s it’s not the problem because the game ends at some point.
It’s also very problematic for people that roleplay, when every other player is a main character.
If it comes to mmorpg I personally prefer the way how Blizzard is doing it.

Also I don’t understand one thing. If they advertise ff14 as open world mmo, then why it’s actually not open world mmo at all? Game is divided into many zones and there’s also many loading times. It kills immersion so hard. Why WoW can do it in a prober way. Ultima Online was possible to do it, and also many other mmorpg’s do it right. Then why square cant? It’s not some f2p asian game, but it feels like one of them.

Anyway, how can we even talk about immersion if 80% of this game is fanservice…
There’s plenty of things which don’t fit this world at all and are a part of different ff’s. Like cars for example.

I love to see how active this thread in. Goes to show how much of an important figure asmongold is to the wow community.

That’s not how you spell ‘controversial’.

Most streamers are nowadays modern times beggars.

Baldman, who looks as old as his father, even has streaming day called ‘‘welfare day’’ where you donate him money and in return he watch video you recomend.

What’s even worse,i cant even begin to imagine how sad your life is,to pay someone money to watch videos you like/dislike in order to get your ‘‘idol’s’’ aproval…

There’s twitch channel with bits donation history.

There’s 8-9 people who sent over 60 k bits,and 3 people who sent over 200 k.Rest 100 of them are between 1000-50.000
