Whatever he does people rage, he switched from TBCC to Retail the other day and the ‘classic Andys’ in chat went nuts. Just let the guy play what he wants, watch him if you want. I actually enjoy watching him despite being outside the age demographic when he plays WoW (I have no interest in watching other games) however FFXIV does peak my interest and I will watch him playing it just to see what it is like . If 9.1 is bad then I might join him.

Matsuno already stopped working on ff14 (guy responsible for story).
He’s working on another game right now.
Also he won’t finish what he started in ff14, so it’s abandoned.
And by the way he confirmed that they’re not looking at europe and america reviews actually. It’s all about japan. And many of those was critique there. What’s actually not surprising, since japanese people knows jrpg’s pretty well and they’re not overhyping this game as eu and na guys recend days (for some weird reason).

Damn there is a lot of hate going on in this comment section. You could easily take the new final fantasy trailer about chaos, replace every time the character says “chaos” with “Asmongold” and you would have summed up perfectly how some people sound in this comment section. Now I want someone to make a yt video in this style.
Although i don’t like asmon’s content,
I do think he has been around social media enough to understand how to manipulate it and people for money.
He is not stupid.
His persona as zack, and persona as asmon are crafted to address different audiences for different purposes. I am pretty sure he would create a new persona that would fit the FF culture to ensure it creates the largest audiences and makes the most money.

Yes its true wow has a hard content draught but we had that in the past + a not so well recieved expac after that

even if streamers switch games its nothing new its happend in the past the advantage of wow and its age is that there many streamers out there who still play and enjoy wow
all give you that he might be the biggest of them but that only would make room for more
WoW is still pretty high in the viewer numbers and higher then ff
but he wont quit he’s a neckbeard and he likes it he rants over the game but he still likes it otherwise he would have quit it with bfa where he really really made a big rant
I wish him fun there. FFXIV is great game and has a lot of potential. Not my piece of cake as I’m not weeb and I like PvP.
He isn’t jumping ship though. He’s just enjoying a game he hasn’t played before (which adds to the enjoyment as he gets to discover all that the game has to offer for the first time).
There is no rule that you can only play 1 mmo exclusively.
The funny thing is a lot of the players harassing/griefing him are FF players. They can be just as toxic.
I know for a fact some have been unwelcoming.

They’ve been banning them left right and centre. He himself, isn’t toxic and has more sway in this game than any player cares to admit.
Cause they know how bad is him and his community so they want him out too.

Toxic people will just be toxic. Blizzard does very little combat toxicity and people are also responsible for their own actions, you can’t blame a streamer for it.
The reason FFXIV has a better reputation is because SE does stuff about it.
Hes actually pretty fun to watch while playing FFXIV as someone who has played it since 2.0 launch.
I haven’t found him to be toxic, goofing and joking sure.
Hes also very straightforward with his opinion and his language isn’t always suitable for children. Maybe that comes off as toxic, I dunno. But he’s usually pretty much on the ball when he’s not messing around.
I have only recently started watching him stream though (for ffxiv, I’m not really interested in watching streams in general).
There was a lot of time he got toxic, I will just tell 2 examples that I remenbered now.
1- Encourages and tells his community to spit on people who bought store mounts.
2- Kicked a member from the guild cause he refused to give him a item.
3- Raiding with Asmongold must be awful : classicwow (reddit.com)

Using ableist slurs and etc is indeed not very welcome, which is why people tend to dislike him and his ilk. Most the people in FF that are ‘streamsniping’ him are his fans, though it’s hilarious how annoyed he gets by them being on big mounts and stuff around him and threatening to report them… When he does it in WoW, on RP servers to disrupt RP in the Cath district especially and he does nothing about his fans then.
According to some recent leaks, if they are true, heavy store users are keeping the cash flow really good even while players leave the game. Thus this creates incentive for Blizzard to put more items in the shop which then creates a positive feedback loop of cash shop first game second. There is a reason why New World was hammered hard when they announced what they want to sell in theri cash shop.
I’m not that old WoW player for it to be a defining part of my life. I won’t go our of my way to react to things I don’t like yet I quite understand the emotional reaction of people that spent their lives with this game. Asmon did not want this game to be bad, he likely never expected to stream other games not to mention other MMO, especially Asian MMOs while having more fun than in the game he loved for all these years.
It’s bit overcolored due to him being popular + his stream persona but if I would be in a guild that can’t do MC I would leave immediatelly or demand guild/raid lead to fix the problem before the next reset. If people fail the most trivial 15 year old content and can’t learn it then it’s not the other peoples responsibility to wipe over and over. Either you move out of the fire or we won’t play with you…
and there were clips from early Classic when raid lead was inspecting people for MC and you had mages with +healing gear and overall lazy and as that was a somewhat streamer guild that had more than 40 people for the raid - such people were cut.
When your biggest streamer by a significant margin swaps to a different mmo, there will be ripple effects regardless of what people may think.

He is a little bit obnoxious, but I’d rather have obnoxious people that are funny than different types of social justice activists that want to shut down everything that offends them.
