Not at all, I’m saying we shouldn’t act like this will affect the formats that are typically ran with guilds. I’m saying it’ll mostly affect farm runs, which will be pugged.

To some extent, yes. But these aren’t typically people who parse high either so they’re still not getting rewarded for playong poorly.

Of course, but it’ll also just be one metric among many. You also need 20 boss kills to show any parses, so once you see them it’s fair to assume the guy has some experience and know what he’s doing. If he’s parsing 90 for 6 bosses but still haven’t killed 2 bosses, you’re not likely to invite him over someone who parses 70 over all bosses. Except if you’re dumb, of course.

Still, even if raid lead is so dumb that they chase 95+ parses they’ll have to deal with waiting for hours to form the group, and it repeatedly falling apart IF all those players are clueless parse chasers (highly unlikely).

I think the problem will sort itself out, just as it has with raiderio.

Private groups can do what they want, they can choose to not invite people for any reason and set up whatever arbitrary rules they want to. An add-on doesn’t really alter anything other than semi automating requirements to join a group.

LFM Liberation of Undermine normal, pink+ logs only

Well yeah, I think that if we’re against giving people access to information to make a more informed decision, we might as well also argue for removing the display of ilvl, items, m+ rating, achievments etc. I know it’s an extreme example, but why should we support picking people based on those metrics, but not their perfomance?

Who knows, maybe this addon will further develop to show more detailed information that allows you to make even more informed decisions.

So for a leyman like me what does this do that for example checking someones m+ score or pvp rating doesn’t?

You can disable your characters’ visibility on Warcraftlogs (and the addon). True, that requires to create an account and link your bnet to it…

  • Add “match-making” system into M+ and make it LFG, remove manual groups completely.
  • Add “match-making” system into normal and HC raids and make it LFG.
  • Ban all gameplay-related addons like DBM, WA, etc. Leave only unimportant UI addons like VendorPrice, SexyMap, etc. Let people play the game, not just follow directions in their headsets.

Here you go. Now you have an MMO where ppl can actually just log-in, click 1 button and enjoy content with other people, who are on the same skill-lvl. No toxic elitism, no meta-slaving, no buyers, no “hell no I’m not inviting peeps from Hyjal realm / cyrillic names” and other stuff like this

Might backfire though. Even rio warns that you can hide your data but it will come with the stigma - “you must be really bad that you want to actually hide it”.

Well to be fair, some pug raids do check logs before this, which is fair, but many fears that will affect m+ invites too.

Not going to get banned, sorry to burst the bubble.
You do know this has been around since WoTLK right?
only then it was called “gearscore” and since then it has evolved
into numberous addons/website’s and different methodes of validating
players preformance either true gear or achievements.

You can always join Starship community or make your own group.
There will always be players who don’t care and just want to have fun.
These things tend to collapse on there own and be replaced by other addons/website’s.

I don’t know why they would have a reason to ban this addon just for the fact that we already have Warcraftlogs.
People already check your logs if they want to and if you have a public profile. It will not change anything tbh.

How it’s done actually is agains Blizzard ToU, so, it’s a pretty good point to ban it I guess

If you are so scared of people knowing about your performance it’s because you know you’re doing something wrong.

We already have raider.io warcraftlogs is just trying to compete with raider.io right now doing same thing that wow community already has.

I have said it many times already. But, again, ban ALL addons, without exception.

Addons are WoW’s cancer. As long as addons are allowed, people will turn the game into the most toxic thing possible.

Why though? It just puts info from warcraft logs in the tooltip. People who cared already looked people up on wcl. Wcl from overwolf does the same thing super fast in-game as well. This just makes it more convenient. This addon makes no difference.

Maybe blizzard is doing a terrible job here. The first thing that strikes me is that the base player think they can do every piece of content, which most of them cant do. Me included, but when blizzard advertise they lure players to beleive they can enter all gsme modes and get loot.

If the game was not advertised like this and players got more realistic about their skills, addon like this or similar would not exist.

I find PuG raids the most frustrating slog ever. Its 3h of my life sitting there waiting… and wiping… I either raid with my guild, or pay for a boost if I need to farm some gear in particular.

The good thing about boosts is that you can pay to be the exclusive recipient of gear. So… why would I PuG?

So IMO, I dont even see the need for this addon to begin with.
