Oh yeah that. Did not even recall it, but now when you say it.
I know there used to add-on that scanned server. So if the person forming group had older scan of you, you may have been ignored just for that.
Gearscore was even worse. Judging people based purely on ilevels is quite moronic in my eyes.
RIO offers you just view of players experience which is way more fair way to judge someone than ‘scanning add-ons, armoury, or gearscore’.
And I do not understand, when people insist that others, who do not want to play with them for whatever reason should be forced to take them in. I play with friends/guild/community and I have never even needed to install RIO. I know-i know what i do is horrible - interact with people in MMORPG
It is always easier blame other sources than self. I disliked armouries, achievements etc etc and I still dislike “Link curve” for pugs but I do not run around asking achievements to be removed because people want to see if I am in the curve or cutting edges.
The bigger problem is that Google and other sites do that with your real world data. And it took a lot of angry EU legislators to force Google to shut PARTS of it off. They still can and do track your phone, location and store the data and that data can be accessed by 3rd party.
So NA companies do openly track all-sorts of data, in game, out game and it is only in EU some of those services may or may not be reverse - that user has to enable them. So Blizzard acts like their environment and other companies in their location do.
Yeah gearscore was a weird addon and i have my doubts if it even was as useful as i think it was back then (but we didnt have anything else)
Haha yeah imagine playing with real people in an mmorpg.
And tbh, when i was still running m+ with friends i never really bothered with rio, we ran 2 times a week for a few hours at a time.
We had fun and i enjoyed running M+, this didnt get ruined because we didnt have 1800 score or whatever.
There are things i dislike in this game aswell or addons i dislike, however i also firmly believe that if it isnt against the tos or gives players an advantage in terms of gameplay i am all for it.
You dont have to like it all, and you can do M+ fine without rio installed.
Only issue with that last point: you have less groups to choose from and it takes you longer.
But i dont think it ruins the game in any way.
I attended M+ always with friends, and when i did this M15 for mount a friend came to me saying that his friend has last key i need, if Id take his place in his group. That when he was good M+ player and I was much worse and his friends like, “oooh look lets get her that achievement done.”
I am very … solo oriented person myself. But this is not a single player game and I am aware of it. I multibox because I want to avoid people (and get bored playing one character, but that’s different topic). But … online multiplayer game means most often that being nice, having least some contacts can go long way. Heck, I have done things in past in this game because people from forums here invited me to places. Now we have Discord and what not communities. Yes, sometimes it does also mean you help friends and contacts who are worse in this game than you. And some other days someone helps you.
And those 4k rio friends I have (i know their score because just yesterday one of them died all the time and they had some banter about it) … they still do M+ with me. Because they like M+ and I am not complete jerk, when their alts need my help and friends/contacts in game are not always about dungeons. If a guildie has a rant, give them ear and pat and you never know what they might do in return - we had one ‘n00b’ guildie turn into Nzoth mythic ready dps that can cover for any main raider or other ‘n00b’ does tank 24 keys.
You don’t have to be some extrovert, as I am not. I dislike people. Brrrrrr. But still somehow… uh… thats paradox, now to think.
pretty sure collecting data without consent is against eu law and i never turned on that option it was on by default so blizz could be legally sued for not following eu regulations
For example Google outside EU collects your movement data (from your phone) by default. But they still collect keywords data form your e-mails etc etc (and that data is not anonymous actually). Some people enable this feature i.e. to track their kids, but do not realise there are other people capable to access it. The biggest bad-boy here is the ‘i was here’ that social media sites like to promote and that feature allows people like me track people I shouldn’t.
But thing is with movement data collection is that someone outside (i.e. me !) finding our your name (which can be done if you i.e. use twitter, Steam, FB and in any point or time mentioned any Blizzard game or used same name and no it is not flaw with Blizzard, but flaw in i.e. FB/Twitter that are built on social aspects of you sharing your life with world) can find out where you live, work or when you not in home . In EU the movement/location tracker is now off-by default and only in EU member states, not in other eu region countries.
I have in past done that for a ‘test’ with consent a player here. Where at point i mentioned their home town and street, they felt unease. How I can find out that elf this and that from wow live sin country X and town that and street y? Google services.
So if someone finds RIO reading armoury creepy, what Google, FB and Instagram track about real you is creepier.
Ban it and replace it with a system to at least give us a clue of the decent players among the dozens that queue up. Its a bit of an unorthodox concept but bear with me. In terms of a name, Im not really picky so Im fine with Dungeon.OI
Have you tried SPAM ? It is canned pork meat in handy packages. I have never tried any, but one of my American friends sent me a can and that can has been on my shelf now over a decade. I dont think I should open it anymore.
i have to stock up on a lot of canned food because of brexit. on 1st january food shelves will be empty and people will fight for food… i guess i will just live on canned tuna
omlettes need eggs so i dont think i will eat omlettes. british farmers dont make enough eggs for all of the uk so they will either be expensive or sold out.
