Of all system ever existed no one was pagan and bad as rio.
Again its proves nothing since people buy boosts like bread, it only encourage people to buy boost, it judge someone before you even play with, it makes people to become world top 1 bottom barrel community…anyone who support this shoud be ashamed. And existance of this addon is failure of blizzard community manager, he is blind to see what this addon did to his people, how much people get dettered from game because they dont want second job, and how discrimination and boosting services thrived under rio. 0 respect for rio, as soon blizz disable it community have greatest chance to heal.
As described before by the people defending rio: some people use the tool wrong and are feeling elitist and better than others.
Aside from that, its a good source to check the experience of the people you are taking to your run.
Being against rio is like telling a guild you apply to: i wont tell you my past raid experience but i know for sure i can do Mythic Nyalotha nowadays no matter what i did in the past.
Experience = a way of determining a players interest / skill to some degree
Not sure what a community manager got to do with rio getting banned or removed because their role is the following:
A Community Manager is a Blizzard Entertainment employee that monitors the World of Warcraft forums, acting as a liaison between the players and the developers, along with other community-related responsibilities.
Boosting has been around in this game ever since people figured out that people wanted to pay gold to get Tier 1 items they missed and started back in Vanilla already. So rio isnt the source for boosting in any shape or form.
Rio takes all its info from the armory and the API behind said armory.
Blizzard decided, that showing your timed M+ runs on the armory is enough and only shows the 1 run.
But the API stores and lists all the runs so rio made the tool to list that and they decided to put a ‘‘scoring’’ system in place.
If Rio gets blocked or disabled, than the armory will be the source for the players to determine if you can join a run or not.
Next thing you know, people will write an addon with a clickable armory button in the group finder so you can easily find said player on armory.
People will still check your gear / M+ experience and if you are worth joining them.
Changing nothing in the process. And next year we will have this same discussion but the thread title will be: Remove Armory
We do it all the time in IRL too - judge people based on hints and variables outside knowing them in person, and nothing wrong if people want to play with like-minded people.
Yes and rio addon turned his community into monsters, and turned game into second JOB, somehting to be ashamed for, world worst gaming community. If you not belive try other games or go WoW classic, this is the point when you see that majority of remaining retail community went into bad direction.
You don’t have to. If you don’t PUG keys it’s irrelevant but if you do you will be graded based on this and many other scores to judge if you can perform in given key level and dungeon. “Fail rate” isn’t low in M+ and any system having the chances to decrease it will be used. Not everyone can do a +10 or +15 and that’s natural.
Before i invite you to my group i could simply go to the official Blizzard site and check your ilvl and achievments and if i see that you have an average 470ilvl and all available Mythics completed at +15 i would invite you. If not i would decline your application. Would that make you angry and ask for Blizzard to ban their own site?
Probably not.
Ofc going into armory to check every applicant would take ages, so a really smart guy somewhere in the world thought “Hey what if i collected ALL these data created a number assigned to each individual player based on their ilvl and achievments”. So to sum up RIO score is just a summary translated into a number of the data that is already available to everyone.
So everything is legit and noone has the right to ban it. Ofc some players does not like it, but that is up to everyone’s personal taste. You cannot force players to not go into armory to look up a character. It just doesnt make any sense.
Oh but they are example, working a full time job 9 til 5 coming home sorting the kids out get them to bed for 8pm and you have maybe an hour to play ohh gotta get the group together and do the dungeon, good luck with that, and because you havent done the dungeons as many time as the dirty sweaty neckbeards would like you to have done you are classed as trash so yes RIO does discriminate people.
