finally looks like blizz is putting their money where their mouth was at blizzcon 2019

you love to see it folks

If you didn’t break the rules then you wouldn’t have gotten the suspension.

It’s very simple, you break rules, and Blizzard punishes you.

And if they did, you still couldn’t “hold them to account”.

Not sure if you ever read the ToS my friend, but the Accounts are their property. All of them.

And yes, you agreed to this.

They can do with the account whatever they damn well please. They don’t even need a reason. They could close mine and write an EMail saying tough luck, get stuffed, lawl …nothing I could do about it.

This…

A sub is basically to rent the account you made. Blizzards property regardless.

6 months is such an arbitrary amount of time to ban somebody. May as well be a permanent ban, as any sane player will quit anyway and not continue to throw their money at Blizzard.

Your case is unfortunate, Blizzard cannot provide evidence of any suspicious activity (ironically these kind of bans against bots are issued by Blizzards own bots), you can appeal but you will be wasting your time, they simply do not care.

If I were you, it’s time to knock it on the head and move on. You had the Classic Experience (first couple of months of release, went downhill from Phase 2 and will only get worse), play something else and don’t continue to support Blizzard.

That was it, since they crack down hard on any third party program that launches the WoW client outside of their portal.
Sure you likely weren’t using it maliciously but Blizzard don’t care enough to differentiate.
Still, 6 months is way too much for something like this, especially when they have no evidence that you were cheating or exploiting the game using teamviewer.

Also Im using a belkin nostromo now by razer. This also has software and the potential to make macro’s I know this is against the rules so I just use it for ergonomic reasons and use the keys 1on1. Also iv used the speedpad since the beginning of vanilla. This can’t be it right?

Well atlest you will think twice before you bake bread again.

You do know gold farming bots are running rampant all over with no bans for months on end, and now hiding in Strat to farm orbs.

I have no problem with players getting banned for third party software, but if this is how they’re being detected then Blizz clearly doesn’t want to touch the non-players.

They are most likely handling players and profesional gold farmer collectives differently. It makes sense to punish a player directly with a suspension but when you deal with these professional botters and farmers with hundreds of accounts it makes more sense to gather intel and ban in big waves.

Many years ago, probably 12 or so, before this rule was added I used the Teamviewer website to remote control my computer so I could post auctions from work.

Now with faster connections it would be easier, especially to farm.

Well deserved ban, hopefully hordies will think twice before afk farming honor

It’s fun to see every banned player start with the same statement :

  • They played for 15 years since Vanilla.
  • They did nothing wrong.
  • They just used TeamViewer or something that is against ToS to tag BG while cooking.
  • And maybe they got hacked.

It’s not about how often he used team viewer or how many AVs he may of AFK’d in… if he AFK’d in AV he would have received a much shorter ban.

Its about the fact that he used team viewer and warden detected it. That’s flagged for an instant ban by Blizzard. When he contacted Blizzard and they said they reviewed it what the GM was actually doing was spinning around in his chair eating a donut and saw that warden had detected team viewer being used and that is instantly case closed and the ban stands.

It also doesn’t matter if you was ignorant to the fact that team viewer was bannable or not, ignorance is not an excuse in the eyes of the law and the same applies to Blizzard too.

It doesn’t matter about your personal reasons such as being a 36 year old dad that’s never cheated before and has been playing Blizzard games since you was young all that matters is that you used a program prohibited by Blizzard in their EULA and that’s an instant ban, they don’t make special cases for people. Break ToS and its a ban and that’s all there is too it.

Not trying to needle the OP but to quote Run DMC “but its like that and that’s the way it is”.

So OP installed teamviewer on his computer and configured it, just for that one time he cooked some bread.

That’s truly unlucky.

And it’s still a well deserved ban, as it is clearly forbidden.

But, you learned, thanks to Activision, something of the utmost importance :

“Read and understand everything before agreeing”

Now you know.

It’s also vague AF.
Essentially, anything can get you banned if the staff fells like it. Using any modern keyboard or mouse is technically using 3rd party software. Nobody expects to get banned for using those. No reasonable person expects to be banned for using teamviewer, either.
Besides, that’s not why the OP got banned.

I have TeamViewer on my computer, I often use it for work to login into external machine or help coworker to fix something on their computer.

I’m not ban, because I don’t use it to AFK in Alterac Valley  .

Mouse and Keyboard use driver to interact with your computer, and driver are
3rd party program but they operate at ring 1 on operating system, they are undetectable by Warden.

Program like TeamViewer operate at ring 3, they are detectable.

It’s just common sense, don’t use TeamViewer to AFK in AV and everything is fine.

No, your not banned because you don’t run it whilst playing Wow.
