Best overall class?

you really do talk some utter bollocks don’t you?

Dont think so

druids can do decent single target dps with powershifting however they really fall behind when u take an entire raid into account which includes trash. A feral druid also has a worse uptime on faerie fire bringing down the raid dps with it.

Yea well trash performance isn’t normally considered too important. And only warriors excel in it.

If the raid cares about FF uptime, healer can do it. If the raid is hardcore enough to not have healing druids, then there’re many classes who are “bad” (again, only warriors aren’t).

Trash performance is basically equally important to bosses (depending on the time spent on each), yes warriors excel in all aspects as they are the best class for pve, which is another reason to not bring a feral, especially not a feral DPS.

You don’t want to bring more than 1 druid as they are the worst class, especially when you have one already doing what you bring them for.

Yea well that’s again world-top-guilds logic in a WoW-newbie thread.

it may be world top guild logic, but it does show that druids are in fact inferior to other classes

Well it’s more important the worse the guild is with running a proper raid comp, especially once BWL is out and guilds will actually get stuck progressing.

ye shred + fero bite is very complicated ;D

You shouldn’t compare druids cat form to rogues because:
druids != rogue.

You will never be as good as the rogue when it comes to dps. BUT! can the rogue heal? can the rogue powershift? Can the rogue suddenly become a tank?

Arguably, yes… for a duration…

True.
My point is that you should never compare druids forms to other classes (bear - warrior, cat - rogue, boomkin - mage) because those classes can’t do what you can.

i have seen rogue tank ony quite a few times, even after evasion fades

Offtopic but its a bit sad that everything is so definite now, right? An interesting thing about vanilla was also each patch stirring up the class balance. Rogues got nerfed loads, warlocks got buffed at least 3 times, etc. Then there was ofcourse not knowing what gear / set bonusses would become available. There was a lot to ponder about. You could really pick -whatever- class you felt like because the future was uncertain anyway. It was always expected and rumored for hunters to become gods in the next patch etc. Classic does not have this feature.

Ontopic: mage.

They’re inferior in top guild situation. In a situation where no one needs innervates/combatresses/emergency tanks. In a situation where everyone is fully worldbuffed and can’t afford HoTs. It’s a highly specific situation. Druids are good in 99% of the guilds, hence I say they’re good.

Didn’t you play private servers, Retherz? I didn’t expect “BWL is hard” memes from you  I think the only guilds that will stuck are veeeeery casual guilds - no consumables, no prebis, no focus - good setup wouldn’t fix them.

It’s properly timed powershifting that makes it tricky. Comparing to other classes 1.5-button rotation anyway.

There may or may not be TBC Classic so there is a bit of uncertainty

I don’t think I’ve ever said any classic content is hard but guilds getting stuck on Firemaw and Chromag was not uncommon.

Well we’ll see how it goes. But I think it’ll be due to hunters prioritizing Serpent Sting over Tranq, due to all gnome warriors still using Thrash Blade, due to healers/everyone not using consumables - all that more than due to setup.

Anyway I think every class is bad in something and good in something. In my opinion, it’s only a popular misconception that makes druids particularly “bad”. I also think they fit the OP request (which was rather vague and meaningless in the first place :D).
