Best overall class?

Ahem, Shamans.

Paladin can fill each primary role in the game.

As Tank and DPS stats are both meele oriented (as compared to feral/balance for example) and the stats required by one spec are somwhat transferable to the other (SP is useful for holy/prot/ret) they are also the easiest Hybrid, with tanking capability, to gear for multiple roles.

You can go either Tank or DPS spec and heal up to 10 man dungeons decently well (with good healing gear).

You can’t dps as tankspec, you may be able to tank as retspec if you have full prebis (10 and 5 mans).

You will not Tank beyond aq20 (AQ40/Naxx is off the table).

And if you tank it will cost you a sh.itton of consumables for every raid.

You will able to dps through all the content.

It will also cost you a sh.itton of consumables beyond aq20.

You will also go bankrupt.

Healing prebis is easy.

Plate prebis (for either tanking or dpsing) will cost you a fortune.

Source: I played a Paladin for years and geared him for every possible spec (including 1h Reck and Shockadin) up to t2 level.

Ok, joint fastest, I play alliance so didn’t even consider shamans lol

Druid changing forms removes slows etc, shaman dont

That is actually click bait in lock DM Farm videos, it’s not 100g p/h. If they are clearing DM E in 12 minutes then they are skipping Hydrospawn and gold gain depends entirely if you are lucky enough to get Arcane crystals which have a low chance to drop I spent the past week doing DM E farm and you can go on a lot of dry runs where you don’t end up getting a crystal for 10+ runs. But if you get lucky with getting a few arcane crystals then you can make a lot more per hour but on average I would say its 50g p/h with the potential of making 100-200g depending on how lucky you get.

Although I will add that I managed to get Glowing brightwood staff from the fel lashers one day and then the very next day they also dropped stockade pauldrons so when your lucks in its in. I’m hoping forors will eventually drop for me too as I don’t skip Hydrospawn I feel he’s worth killing as he drops essence of water quite regularly and that small chance at forors is worth the minute and a half it takes to kill him.

+Swimming speed. Game changer:d

Guildie of mine does hydro and other boss same time

OP asked for a class that’s good at everything. We can forever argue if druids are “good” or “bad”, but they’re the class who can do most of the things.

Using world top guilds example to advice a class to someone who’s just starting also seems short-sighted.

people were claiming that druids were good at everything. thats just a blatant lie

Well i dont feel too bad at anything. The dps is at the bottom of the chart but what does it matter when the bosses die quick enough anyway and i can pop someone an innervate and battle ress. Bear does a good amount of threat and stays alive. It’s viable and very flexible. And i love how it plays in BGs. “Only good at flag carrying”? Wrong. Having a good gear, can win most random duels, throw some heals, carry the flag, tank AV, and if you happen to face some green geared people, have fun with up to 4 enemies alone. Jack of all trades, ace of none. You can also do sneaking stuff if you like. And tank raids.

Depends on your skill level.

I would say Hunter/lock if you’re avarage.

Mage if you’re above avarage.

Druid if you’re a god.

Warrior if you’re full epix. (untill you meet a good mage)

Honestly, i dont think ur good enough to realise that you are bad

100% this. I think people hating on druids are just jealous.

Must feel lame to only be good in 1-2 things unlike druids, who are good in 3 PvE roles + few types of PvP.

druids are bad healers in raids, bad dps in raids, and bad tanks in raids. Feel free to prove me wrong with parses.

For 90% of classic it will of course be mages. For the last 10% once they start getting really good gear (or r13/14) warriors will become absolutely ludicrous.

I’d say either Shaman or Druid/Paladin.

Druids and Paladins can level in dps, tank or even healer mode but for endgame you are stuck with 1 spec being dominant by a huge margin, one spec that requires open minded ppl to let you raid and one meme spec.

Shamans (while not being able to tank) offer a rather various play style once you learn to manage your totems and both elemental and enhancement are needed in raids (also, enhancement Shamans got pretty much EVERYTHING they need loot-wise from pre raid and MC/BWL).

Above most mages/warlocks, above all hunters. Only really beaten by 2 classes.

Not linking tank/healing parses because they’re nonsense.

Btw “good” never meant “best”.

Just pick a magd
But beware, there are usually like 2/5 undead/gnome mages on the server

an average parse in a bad guild is not a good parse. Here are all the parses for all the classes in MC: http s://classic.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/1000
as you can see, druids perform significantly worse than any other class in the game except pala. And this is on boss fights only. On trash, druids are even worse than this because their cleave damage is bad.

If you average everyone out, results are meaningless. Ferals are doomed to have lower average because 1) rotation is complicated and 2) a lot of cats have to offtank/for some other reason get parsed as bears, and vice versa.

But if we look at

http s://classic.warcraftlogs.com/zone/rankings/1000/#metric=dps&class=Druid&boss=0&spec=Feral
http s://classic.warcraftlogs.com/zone/rankings/1000/#metric=dps&class=Mage&boss=0&spec=Frost
http s://classic.warcraftlogs.com/zone/rankings/1000/#metric=dps&class=Hunter&boss=0&spec=Marksmanship

we see that ferals can be 20 DPS below mages and 50 DPS above hunters.

I’d say it falls into “good DPS” category, even if you insist on using world top examples.

If you don’t, however, we can just agree to disagree on

I’d say average/can-be-above-average is “good”, regardless of the guild
