Me and 2 friends played wow classic when it launched, stopped playing right before the PvP patch hit. I skipped on TBC but with the announcement of WotLK we got excited again.
After resubbing I discovered the server I’m on (Ashbringer) is pretty dead on the Horde side. A shame but no real worries since we all wanted to play different classes anyway. Since none of us can be bothered leveling from 1 to 70 and then to 80 when WotLK drops, we’re all probably gonna buy a character boost to 58. And while we’re at it we’re gonna roll with Alliance for a while again for a change.
So that brings me to the question, what would be the best server to pick? We’re mainly focused on PvE (no real interest in wPvP, we might do some arena and BGs here and there) so initially I was looking at a PvE server. But then I saw Firemaw has the most Alliance population so the biggest odds of forming a dungeon/raid group I guess?
Firemaw ís a PvP server tho, but according to some 3rd party population tracking websites Alliance is dominating with >93% of the server population, so how big an issue could unwanted wPvP really be?
Maybe the info in this thread will help you: Which server for alliance PvE. I would recommend one of the two bigger PVE realms. PVP servers tend to be way more unstable. Also, in my personal opinion, PVE servers have a much nicer community (on average, of course). Bonus: No “world PVP” aka griefing. There is enough people to play with, don’t worry.
Also, if you want a boost, you could also go for the 70 boost. It will propably be more ecpensive, though, and is not yet available.
As far as I can see i posted this under WoW Classic General forums(?)
Anyway we took some advice to heart and went for Pyrewood Village!
Seems to be a good choice so far. And now lets see what the WotLK launch will do to server populations and balances hehe…
