BFA is actually a solid expansion

The 1 month arrival faster it’s on it’s own fault. Keep in mind Wod lost a zone a raid tier and so much more. Yet people don’t use that when thinking about it. It’s their fault for releasing BFA earlier hence it’s well earned name Beta for Azeroth. Also I am comparing Legion at the start with the things we have now and i am thinking of positive stuff and that greatly outweights BFA. BFA brought nothing new that’s positive yes it brough IE and Warfronts but they weren’t positiely received and the one thing they couldn’t screw up(Mythic + ) they manged to by making it a chore and less fun by making trash so hard you can’t pull multiples packs togheter.

No, there simply needs titanforging to be removed, raid content less complex, but more gear dependent and timegate that, not the reputations to get your wanted race finaly. Also, reduce drop ammounts and remove wellfare gears alltogether.
This way, even if titanforging is removed, content still can last longer, people will feel challanged and also be able to feel their progression of gear through effort and not RN-Geezus.
Also class balance should be restored and this current idiotic ‘class fantasy’ bullsh*t should go away… classes should have a theme, yes and some iconic ability package and playstyle that creates differences, but not at the cost of completely breaking game balance in between classes.
Unfortunately Activision decided to ruin Blizzard’s greatest game and focus on a short term money milking instead of continuing the legacy of WoW… and to do that, they’ve implemented the current game system with it’s loot system and class ‘fantasy’.

It’s a reasonably enjoyable action game, and of course there’s friends to play for. It also has a lot of content and beautiful art.

As an MMORPG, it is a total failure though. Thing is, people don’t come to WoW expecting an MMORPG anymore. The people who want an MMORPG are currently on the Classic bandwagon.

Other than the graphics and story, everything else is trash tier in BfA… I don’t thing a single month would have made a mirracle in fixing the problems.
They should completely throw out and create a new system or rework the current one for azerite gear…
This idiotic unlimited and timegated grindfest for azerite… it’s clear what purpose it has, but that’s nowhere close to make the game better or enjoyable.

Sorry, but it just isn’t.

I’m an “educated” Blizzard fanboy and I was so, so hyped for BfA that, for 1 year, all that was on my mind was this expansion. So, it released and it was and still is a complete crapshow in terms of things to do.

You might enjoy the expansion and maybe the majority of people do, since casuals don’t really care about anything past heroic clear in the last week of the tier, but for everyone else, the game is completely lackluster.

People have been saying that it’s this or that or whatever. Obviously, most of them are wrong. The biggest issue with the game currently is that there’s no incentive to do anything. All of its sub-systems that support the Azerite gear are not enabled since there are no legendary / set-like traits to get.

In other words, there’s no end-goal to you doing any of these things, so, who cares?

Even with the upcoming “buy your azerite” NPC, people still won’t care. The traits are not interesting, they don’t modify your spec in any way. With sets / legendaries, you always had to look forward playing your spec in a new way, come the next tier, but now?

Now you’ll press the same buttons, in the same order, for the (supposedly) remainder of the expansion.

We don’t want interesting traits, we need them.

The game has a clear goal: destruction of state by increasingly adverse RNG.
And if you choose to stay baseline you get a guided tour with useless professions and Arathi matchfixing.

The difference with BFF and games like D3 and SC2 is: BFF’s lengthy time to crawl up combined with instant doom. I don’t want to tend to a Mythic key throughout many lockout periods to have it vanish by a roll on the dice.

I see how this cuts on testing expenses. But this endgame is worse than work.

BfA really is not a good expansion.
There are many things off, RNG, more RNG, lacking world content, boring, tedious dungeons in M+, in Legion I liked M+, but the dungeons are built in a way, that they are not fun, they are mostly annoying.
So far the first raid, Uldir, people say it is ok, I have a different opinion, I find it quite dull too.
Graphically the expansion is just beautiful, musically it is nice too, the art team is really pulling their weight here.

I could live with bad raids, annoying dungeons if one thing would be alright and that one thing is classes;
Honestly classes have turned from awesome (WotLK-MoP era, specially MoP) into complete lack cluster. I thought that when one sparkly pony left to another Blizzard game, that the class design could not go any more worse… …I guess they needed to prove me wrong.
On top of boring base classes Azerite armor is horrible, the items do not effect your gameplay anyway, sometimes when doing your four button “awesome and engaging” game play you suddenly shoot beams of light practically out of nowhere. Boy… that is just awesome.
I could do bad content if the classes were fun to play, it is just tedious to do bad content with bad classes.

Yep I’m enjoying it loads. The rep grind is wearing on me and I don’t enjoy island expeditions at all, but the story is great. The zones are stunning, the questing is the best it’s ever been and Boralus is just so, so cool.

I’m glad you’re getting a kick out of guiding all those turtles to the water.

Rng is the doom which bind us in bfa. Elune save our souls.

Yeah, but that can easily be fixed by drinking coffee * sips *

Personally I would rather grind mobs for 6-7 hours in a party while chatting or listening to music and be done with it than spend a couple of hours every day doing WQs for infinitely lesser gain per time spent.

Rep grinding has never been worse and less enjoyable in my opinion.

I agree uruk: Yesterday i finished all my reps for this toon. Exalted for all. Im smashed. I have the horde ones to grind but i have the vomit just to login. So im passing time levelling the Ele shammy Dwarf Iron.

Dis xpac is way too bad. The population is way too low. I remember legion I found more pugs than in Bfa. I think ppl are tired of Blizzard when they are promising something then break it.

Where to even start.

First the Legion was better argument. Legion at launch was more timegated than anything in BfA with the Suramar story having barely any WQs with the main one up only every 3 days and the story didn’t progress until you reached ever increasing rep goals. Now Suramar is no longer rep gated and has 8.1.5’s 250 rep wqs added which were not available before then.

Suramar was also mandatory on every alt as the profession quests all lead there for their most important craftables.

Meanwhile Honourbound and 7th Legion only has one dungeon locked behind it that doesn’t even need revered, unlocks for all your alts and has 3 zones worth of WQs from the get go. Also it starts at Friendly, people tend to forget that.

Let’s talk m+. Legion launch m+ was horrible with every failed key depleting making the most basic pushing a pain. If you got a bad dungeons you couldn’t just give up on it and complete it depleted, nope that key was gone. Meanwhile BfA comes with every quality of life change to m+.

But hey lets compare future Legion m+. You know where the fact they were not designed around infinite scaling meant that a cat pouncing on you would nearly one shot most classes. Some fights were only beatable with people using tank trinkets on the classes with already strong defensives, while tanking devolved into a kite the whole dungeon while it gets aoed. Oh sure that part is still true right now, and won’t change without making tanks unable to hold aggro at all, but with dungeons being designed around m+ we see far less unavoidable instagibs and more mechanics we are meant to avoid. Sure this what lead to people complaining about trash, but the alternative is dungeons being not even functional at higher keys.

Let’s talk loot. First Artifacts, boy having to research AK for weeks on alts is so fun, said no one ever. Boy having to grind the same amount of ap to get a second spec up while not having the leggos for it is sure fun, no one kept saying. Legion launch they literally hard capped leggos to 4, with literal anti bad luck protection. And the AP grind never ended because someone thought releasing all traits that were meant to last two patches wasa good idea, completely overpowering the already low difficulty first raid. It is so horrible having auto AK, a single item to grind for, with a soft cap to power at 23 necklevel for second trait on MYTHIC gear. The literal only downside is that you have to grind 3 pieces which they have greatly improved with the emissary changes, god knows how much longer setting up my off spec took me even in late legion pre wakening.

Wanna talk RNG drops? Lets ignore the show that was leggos, and go with how for m+ farming out 4 piece tier set was mandatory for most classes, somehow people forget that when they wish tier would replace azerite because it’s so hard to get and worse. How about the fact 6 of your slots was permanently taken up by leggos and tier yet M+ could still give you drops for those slots, but sure m+ was more rewarding in Legion when nearly 50% of the loot you could get was for slots never replaceable(and it bumps up to a full 50% with a max ilvl pantheon trinket). Even in raids they dropped for those slots, but now every azerite slot item is azerite gear, and m+ does not waste drops on permanently taken tier slots.

And one last sigh goes out to class quests, you know the story content that had no impact on the story(except the shared stuff) that barely had content but seemed like a lot because you constantly had day long brakes from it in form of missions including a nearly week long brake where you had to get 5 of something from missions one by one. Also might as well put it here, legion had no mounts at exalted and locked multiple rank3 recipes behind it while BfA put all of them at revered and has mounts.

Your post practically tells, that you think it is better to have dry sh*t, than liquid showeled into your mouth… well, there certainly is a difference, but does that differnce realy matter in the end?
BfA had solved some serious problems in legion… still, the systems they’ve created to solve these problems were creating new, similar or in some case even worse problems… and most importantly, BfA DID NOT changed the main principles of the game, just redesigned them (like I wrote at the start)…
Neither expansion were any good neither of them are enjoyable in the least after a few weeks and for some even a few days might hurt them…
WoW have changed, the change started with Activision, it was relatively slow…
they have practically cooked the frog(us) slowly instead of dropping it into boiling water… if the game would have gone from just WotLK to Legion in terms of game mechanics, WoW could have been long time dead, but blizzard have merged with a genius money milking company and integrated their money making game designs along with their short-shighted game development strategy.

Not compared too legion, BFA is basically Legion superlite
It reminds me a lot of WOD only instead of a lacking endgame its one that actively frustrates you with layers upon layers upon layers of RNG for gearing
8.1 seems to fix most of it
