Black lotus

I think there is a more nuanced stance to be taken here: Whatever the top guilds are doing, it would also be wonderful if Joe Casual was also able to pop a flask every so often.

At 50-80g per flower, things are on the expensive side. Over 100g and that’s forbidden fruit for all but the most dedicated players. Simply put, I don’t believe flasks should be a luxury reserved only for those with 6 or more play hours a day,

And I have 30 flasks in stock ready for BWL and to blow in MC or AV if I’m bored. So this is not a casual whine.

That’s like saying “it would also be wonderful if Joe Casual could get a shot at a world boss every so often”. But the game is what it is, and unfortunately it’s one where resources are extremely scarce and easily monopolized by a few hardcore guilds, even on PvE servers.

I’m not saying it’s a good thing, mind you - that’s a large part of the reason why I prefer TBC to Classic. However I’ve seen Classic pservers where black lotuses are more abundant, wbuffs have no CDs etc., and all it does is pushing the competition even further - basically forcing even the middling guilds to play the game in the “hardcore” way.

Ever since I’ve been playing here on Classic, I’ve had an experience far closer to my original Vanilla experience than I ever had on Nost/LH servers. I’d rather finish it the way it is than seeing it smirched by the demands of a few tryhard wannabes

Ok so 260% higher chance. Sounds great until you realize its 260% higher chance on ~0%. What Im trying to say is that even with 3000 players there are waaaaaay less BL’s than players can realistically pick. So for you as an individual it really doesnt make a noticeable difference between 3k or 6k pop, if that’s even a thing, I dont know. I get the feeling that often people confuse population with peak.

all the financial problems will be solved If Blizzard banned every single gold seller in classic.

how would that fix the game economy?
1-gold equal to $$$
2-farmers joined and filled the game
3-goldsellers fighting each others and lowering price of gold
4-real players buy gold because it’s so cheap
5-the demand on gold get increased
5-farmers associated with goldsellers sell items “lotus/crystal” for higher price
6-and goldseller get more gold than before so they tend to sell gold cheaper
7-players buy more gold with same amount of $$$ they used to pay as before
8-players who buy gold doesn’t care if lotus will be sold for 300g because to them, they bought it with same amount of $$ as before.
9-gold lose it’s value
10-the only player that will struggle in this mass sh*t is players that doesn’t buy gold…because prices is getting insanely increased. thx to the economic inflation caused by goldsellers

You do know they are supposed to be rare, right?

This is incorrect. Very few people buy gold because it’s a bad/stupid investment. More than enough gold can be made in-game and far more gold is being farmed in dungeons than at the beginning of Vanilla.

There is a lot of gold in circulation farmed by honest players and there are people with insane amounts of money atm that can basically pay any price for anything.

The first epic mount in my guild came within the first month of classic.

You both are right, and even Mando is : some aspects of wow classic just aren’t for Joe Casual, but even at 120g each Joe can purchase 2-3 for the BWL progression or so. Even though it would be nice if he could use them more often.

Then farm some gold to buy some for AQ progression as well, he won’t be able to compete on parses but still use some

Or maybe Joe Casual could wisen up and stack them for something a bit more challenging than BWL.

I have about 34 Black Lotuses in my bank, still stacking more, and I don’t plan on using a single one for BWL.

A wise approach indeed

Wasn´t Firemaw the server where everyone left?

I play horde and I have 22 to 38 minutes, when I queue I do it in Ogrimmar, I fly to Ungoro and I am able to Farm
+/- 9 [Mountain Silversage]
+/- 10 [Dreamfoil]
+/- 15 [Golden Sansam]
+/- 8 [Sungrass]

When I was Running in Azshara or EPL or due to being closse to AV queuing points I never ever seen a Black Lotus, ever, ever…

Maybe you’re thinking of Flamelash?

yes, thanks

pics or it never happened.

Get out of here with your common sense.

No, but seriously. You’re also going to consume more.

The solution seems obvious to me. Just make the spawn timer reflect the server population.
For example, if the server has an average daily population of 2k the spawntimer should be 1 hr.
4k -> 30 min
8k -> 15 min

I’m not sure this is possible though. It worked fine on private servers where there was only one realm. Not sure it translates to multiple realms running on the same client though.

No one can tell if there are alot of people or few people buying gold, but let me tell you Since you seems to be far away from that business!! since classic release, there was 130k $ gold sold, it’s not hard to check the history or track that. and i don’t think it’s bad/stupid ? not everyone have time to farm, some people just want to enter game and enjoy the short time you have in day to play.

I’m aware that some players manage to get their mount first week they hit 60, also some haven’t got it yet, some didn’t even make it to 60yet.

can anyone make gold in game? Ofc anyone who have the time for it can! yet i won’t mention the people who got 60 within 2weeks of classic release and then they managed to get +10k gold, Yup those no lifers exist.

but this has nothing to do with the economic problem made by goldselling farmers, the more prices it gets higher! the higher demand on gold will happen which lead to hard life on any normal player that can’t farm for his consumables use when prices get insanely high.

P.S you know retail made that system of people buy token and sell it for gold because blizz was aware of the amount of people buying/selling gold…and it was over 50% of base wow player.

i only made this char 1.5months ago on firemaw, and i do the same, Queue 45~50min i fly to herb but i find nothing >< but it seems that server is getting more players!

13 Years ago you would stumble upon Black Lotus , Ice Cap , Dream foil without to much hard work. Now in classic since i have been playing I have found 3 Black Lotus and yes I know where they spawn , I ce cap is as rare as hens teeth and dream foil is not much easier to locate. Now a simple solution would be to up the spawn rate a bit or add more nodes .

Yes it’s getting silly

Thank God I’ve quit WoW. Reading this topic is depressing.
