Oh, sure. So that’s why Viscarious Visions just recently was merged with Blizzard… So that become a brand new game studio.

Also, some points in the text don’t make sense at all. For example Overwatch 2 being cancelled. The game is still in development, even today. It is and will be, only delayed in release, but not cancelled.

I would be very careful with taking that post (both here and on the linked platform) any more serious than a 4chan-leak post. Imo this “leak” is as believable as something a drunk guy says to you in a bar.

I think alot of what was posted is farfetched but some of it I can see happening.

I can see that Diablo is one of their most important titles, as this is a way to get people back if the new expansion is 100% solid.

I can also mobile development taking off we were told this about 2 or 3 years ago they want mobile games, which are a quick and easy way to make the company money.

I would not say that WOW is in maintenance mode but somewhat in a holding stage as the developers need to figure out where and what to go and do next with the game. Do they continue with SL? Do they abandon it and work on 10.0 and the plan for 11.0? Do they reboot the entire game and create new lore and characters?

As for Overwatch well Blizzard did this game in with the massive lootbox spree they went in and the large gap of time between expansions. I also agree that we will not see any RTS games anytime soon, we see that the company cannot work on these anymore look at the Warcraft 3 Reforged mess.

If they plan too keep same people and ideas its probably for the best.

SL was their new lore debut, probably fully inspired by their comical attempts to bring in new audience at the expense of old.

Overall, if true, just sell warcraft to the studio which will enjoy making the game for its community. Its the best win win strategy for everyone, a divorce. And “insight” can do whatever they want on their own.
