Blizzard please tune MC to give us pre-1.12 difficulty

Stop judging a game on someone else their experiences and achievements and do it on your own maybe?

Classic is somewhat easier do to patch level, probably most noticeable in MC / Onyxia. Less from there up.

Having raided in Vanilla, the differences in how “hard” it is go way beyond just the patch difference.

In Vanilla. getting a guild with enough people for one raid group was already a challenge. 40+ people adjusting their real life schedules for gaming. That was kind of a new thing. Now you have guilds preformed or coming from Retail with 200+ members ready to go even before Classic went life.

Top guilds going through all content were few per realm compared to the hundreds of guild trying progress, of which many fell apart due to lack of patience and no steady progress.

We communicated mostly by typing. The few that had voice communications were rare, and quality usually was not to good in quality. If you were lucky the raid leader could voice, and about 90% of the guild could only listen and still had to type back.

Internet connections were mostly still dialup over a phone line. Lag and disconnections were common during raids. Had plenty of wipes because a tank or healer lagged out. Was all part of the experience and back then considered normal. Broadband like todays cable and fibre was Sci-Fi!

The first guilds doing content were figuring out everything for the first time. And after a while guides would pop up here and there, mostly not agreeing on eachother and lots of early guilds still had to figure out most boss fights on their own with limited input. Now you have perfected and exact detailed guides on just about any progression you can find in Classic. From leveling, professions, character specs, and every dungeon and raid boss.

Also for most people in WoW back then, it was their first MMO or at least one on this scale. Cooperating on a scale like in WoW raiding and progressing through dungeons and bosses like that was something new. Players now have 15 years more experience in WoW and more games like it.

Classic will never be the same experience as Vanilla. Don’t expect that, and just go trough it on your own pace, not see it as a competition. Have fun! it’s a game you know?

I second that statement

In 2004? Come on get real. They were not.

Oh believe me there were a LOT still on dial up. Myself I was lucky I had cable. Lucky because it was flat fee, but the speed generally was lower than my analog line.

In 2004 over half of EU was still using analog and ISDN internet. And the lucky ones having cable or ADSL where not even close to the stable fast connections you now expect of those.

I’m a pretty #NoChanges guy. But increasing the difficulty wouldn’t be something I’d get my back up about.

Surely not the same speeds and stability as now but everyone had at least 2Mb ADSL connection with something like 10Mb being the norm.

Amon is doing MC now, for everyone saying how easy it is you can go check.

I don’t know if they should retune anything. What if they make it too difficult? It’s the first raid. When Naxx is here, new players will still have to do MC first.

It’s not hard(subjective anyway, im comparing it to BC raids as thats the only comparison I have). But it’s not easy to the point that it’s boring. It’s reasonable to wipe from mistakes even when you’re correctly prepared.

I never played in private servers and I never will for one simple thing: I dont want to loose my characters. Private servers come and go, there is no guarantee that my characters will be there in the next year. But instead Blizzard give the confidence that no matter what happen my character wont be deleted. Since 2007 I sill have all my characters created on Blizzard’s servers, but private servers most of them last one or two years, and even if some persis some more there is no confidence that they will last 15 years like Blizzard’s servers.

Yeah I know what you mean, my hunter which has many great memories and 30 days /played is completely gone now and so is my Shaman, not so much great memories but was hard work getting him to 60

but u know guilds can clear naxx and aq bwl in dungeongear only? who cares

i think u just dont enjoiy old aptches like priv players if my guild is with naxx down we would love to clear tbc after it and then move back to vanilla and start from the beginning with new only realms like private server people do its fun

I just dont enjoy playing any videogame without the confidence that my savegame will be preserved, and that is not just limited to WOW, I even keep backups of my character from Phantasy Star Online from both Dreamcast and Gamecube, older than Vanilla WOW.

In the case of WOW, or any other game, I could enjoy from time to time to start again from scrath, even like in seasons like Diablo, just knowing that my characters wont be lost. Maybe I am just too atached to my savegames.

why not merge empty realms and bring out new realms i could prob play 3-4month on naxx patch without getting bored after this i would move on tbc /wotlk and then later i would just start again on a new only realm

The problem is that it’s not day one, it’s 15 years later. People know how to do it properly. lol.

When will people understand? You dont play classic because you want super challenging raid content.

You can play for whatever reason you want, but I feel like most people overestimate their capability, they judge how easy content will be for them by how well best wow players did, when others are wiping left and right on same content.

Im saying, if you play classic to get hard raid content you are doing it wrong because there is none. If you wanna have a good time im classic wow you should play to be a part of a great community. And to wipe horde raids in BRM, always wipe pesky horde raids in BRM.

Hard is relative term, it is probably not hard for some guilds that have done that content for 100’s of times, but for people who have done it few times, or never it will still be challenging, even with all the information out there.

Playing classic for “endgame challenge”.

Hope the use of the rofl emote is ok, not sure if they had it 15 years ago!
