It’s because classic is based off the legion client which isn’t optimized for large scale pvp in order to handle other things better. It has nothing to do with the blizzard servers and isn’t something you can just throw money at to fix.

Nostalrius’s server (paid by donations) didnt cost that much (few thousands dollars from what I remember), why cant blizzard afford better stuff then?

You’re missing the point completely. Think of the 1.12 client as a piece of wood, and the legion client like a piece of plastic. Classic is a piece of plastic that has been formed to look like a piece of wood, and you don’t get why it doesn’t work to fuel your campfire

And you have a bunch of Classic “elitists” complaining that they have to pay a sub that also includes retail.

Not really. Your vanilla wood wouldnt burn either. (40v40+ would lag always) It was normal for the time, tho.
What I am asking is, why cant they run Classic in a “new”, or “enhanced” server that can do that: allow big pvp battles ?
It was done by Nost, at a “low” cost. Why would Blizzard not do that?

Its funny though cause GW2 has no subscription and handles these kinds of things just fine.

In my case it did, I didn’t have the best pc for gaming at the time. I don’t know how it was for others who did have one tho, it might simply have been on my end? I don’t know. The poor performance since a couple of years when a lot of people are in the same place is very noticeable, and this time my system can handle quite a bit more. It’s not an odd question to ask if something changed on the side of the game itself that impacts performance this much, so many have commented on it.
