Blizzcon - A disappointment?

Or it could be Jito actually DOES think the stuff he/she saw is “amazing”

Or does everyone have to like or dislike what you like or dislike…

And “we have a lot of exciting plans, we are considering options, we want to be sure what will be best”. I think they would do well in politics :joy:

What optional content isn’t content? I keep seeing like we’ve all been brainwashed and are suffering from Stockholm’s syndrome from BFA when the real issue is, all the optional content is boring af.

It basically comes down to the Anima grind (read World Quests), and the Maw, as nothing else is really optional. World Quests are the worst they’ve ever been, Anima rewards are all recolors of sets/mounts and useless Sanctum upgrades.

I legitimately preferred grinding for AP with Artifacts not because I like cosmetics less than player power, but because this is just a boring way of doing cosmetics. The Maw was designed for you to hate it so it’s no wonder that most people do. Artifacts made slow but consistent progress whatever you were doing, and it was obvious in your weapon/ilvl going up by a tiny bit at least.

The problem of SL is that content is either boring (WQs), unrewarding (most of PvE), boring+unrewarding (Torghast), not players being unable to appreciate optional content now that there are less mandatory chores.

I think Jito is generally one of the most enthusiastic players for most new content. He embraces change like no one else.

That’s not to say he likes everything though.

Regarding Blizzconline - the WoW part was pretty empty and boring. But there might be a bit of good news in that PVP gear might be returning back to WoD (as in, they are “thinking” about it).

i still feel bad that they just decided to back up from more customization idea, such small feature yet big enough to make alot of people happy
especially races like nightborne and lightforged draenei that left out for 4 years without any options
it was really disappointing

think i liked Metallica better between 1984-86…they seemed to have lost their edge…
must be from their new ‘elevator’ lp…

no u misunderstand my statement.

Alot of players Dont see the point in doing the content if theres no power attached to it, regardless to self beleive. thats just simply true.

thats personal taste… i do actually like going to the maw occassionally doing the quests.

but the content is exactly the same.

Farming AP and Artifact power grind is the same as the anime grind, all 3 of them are Rewards from WQs Dungeons and Raids. ur doing the same thing in each of these grinds.

imho the maw is hated more for the fact u have a lack of anything to do and the fact u cant mount there.

but these go hand in hand… just dont do em… lmfao i dont, i only do the ones that award renown to catch up realistically as i have 8 chars.

I dont really consider it unrewarding. but then again iv’e never done this content solely for loot either.

I aint saying SL has no critic. but BFA Content was one of the worst content to exist.

Warfronts were Awful AFK Fests
Island Expeditions were awful AFK Fests
Rep Requirements made WQs a 4-5 hour Grind
TF/WF ment u could never out grow content.

these are the things that made me dislike BFA. yes im not go8ing to say SL Contents More indepth, or going to state its sooo good… but its ignorable… which is the bit im inlove with.

I quite litterally Dont have to care, the only grind i have to eventually get around to is the Maw and theres a Point that i can simply stop caring about that too.

They are technically the same as BFA but the content itself is made more tedius and slow on purpose, WQs in this case. BFA ones were much faster to do blitz through and combined with the flight whistle and connected zones, it made for a much smoother and more enjoyable experience.

The rewards were also better as there was no Renown bs to up the ilvls so they were always extremely useful for alts in terms of gear. Emissaries too were more effortless to see at a glance than Callings, so you could only do the one you need while in the world.

Legion had it better than both BFA and SL by far as then the rewards were even better, and the AP grind wasn’t separated from the gear grind, so you were always doing it anyway.

I agree I hate it even on my druid, but the point still stands. It’s both desolate content-wise and prevents mounting which is a huge QoL slap in the face despite the reasoning behind it.

That’s what I’m doing but then the overall experience is technically even lesser, as nearly all the cosmetic progression and dev time went into Covenants, ignore Anima and you get even less of that.

It also means you have nothing left other than the gear treadmill which I personally consider extremely unrewarding due to its RNG nature. It’s probably the main complaint of the whole expansions and they made 2 token changes so far to improve it so it definitely is an issue.

M+ is boring without TF and with gutted ilvl/drop rates. You’re putting in the same effort and simply getting far less in turn. M+ Vault only makes sense if you’re spamming 4/10 dungeons a week, otherwise it’s the same as BFA. I for example was never doing more than 3-5 M+ a week on any one character, so combined with fewer drops, worse ilvl, and no TF, I’m getting less out of M+ for the same time as I did ever before.

All raiding difficulties below mythic have the same problem. We finished Curve progression and I didn’t do a single full clear after that, because again fewer drops and no TF means that the content becomes unrewarding in the context of the rest of the game as your M+ Vault will be stuffing you with high ilvl gear regardless of whether it’s the pieces you want.

In Legion tier sets and TF kept heroic relevant for me throughout the tier, now I was bored of it within a month. Earlier expansions didn’t need titanforging as we didn’t have 4 raid difficulties and infinite M+ to pollute the gearing process, now without it there are much more obvious walls you hit through because the process has FAR more gear “steps” than it did in say Cata/MoP.

Didn’t have to do them if you didn’t need the 1 heroic piece every time a new one was up, or if you didn’t want transmog.

They were as mandatory as Torghast is but spread out across 3 10-minute quick runs, unlike 2 chunks of a 30-min slog.

What do you mean? If anything it gave the incentive to keep doing M+ and raid heroic longer than you would otherwise. It was never cost-effective to do a difficulty below what you were capable of doing, but doing your preferred one had the chance of giving you upgrades.

One more good thing: they are reportedly considering adding a solo queue for BFA islands. (Yes, I would run those.)

I hope they enable those and Warfronts too, some of the best mogs ever put into the game are rotting there.

Honestly…not even new expansions get me hyped anymore.

Every time a new expansion gets announced I kinda just feel like
“Here we go again… let’s see what this one brings to the table”.

After playing this game for 16/17? years (started 2 weeks after vanilla release), I’ve been getting kinda used to get disappointed.
I used to think that the issues I have with this game will maybe get fixed with the next expansion but they didn’t.

Now I’m in the state of just hoping the game won’t get worse by adding more arbitrary grinds / dumb PvP system changes. There still is some hope for things getting better but it’s not nearly enough to get me hyped up.

Don’t get me wrong - I still like this game but I just see myself playing it less and less and taking way more breaks than I used to take back in TBC/WotLK up to MoP.

i have been playing wow since feb 2007, (with breaks since mop) and have never been to blizzcon or taken any real interest in it.

however, this year i thought i would watch it cause it was online, and the guild were talking about the opening cinematic!

so i watched it while i played. mildly entertaining.

then the voice actors discussion happened…

:man_facepalming:

i wish they would stop conflating politics into this game :frowning: although admittedly it seemed to be mainly one person (2) doing this. i wont point fingers, but its painfully obvious that this person was trying to inject politics into the game when this should just stop being done.

so, am disappointed and couldn’t be bothered to watch any more after that :frowning:
