BoE Epic in dungeon

The people I play with have the same mindset as I do, and we often bring a few puggers with us. If it’s an upgrade you need, if not you greed. Whether it’s green, blue or purple, bop or boe.

In a theoretical full pug, if someone else decides we’ll all need, I would need and hope I get the item so I can pass it to the person for who it’s an upgrade. But I much rather go with ‘need if it’s an upgrade, otherwise greed’. I understand the reservations people have with that with strangers tho and respect that, even if I disagree.

This, and if someone greeded I’ll have them reroll for it if I win it.

No worse, just because they can sell it, not even use it.

It strikes me this distinction ppl is making between how to deal with guildies and with pug players: “if it is for a guildie i’ll let him have it, if I’m in a PUG I’ll need because is gold”.
I prefer to think that a player deserves the same respect whether he’s or not in my guild. Furthermore, I feel happy when a member of my party gets a good upgrade. Eventually, I’ll get one too and expect the same consideration from other players

Everyone who rolls a good upgrade away from a player who needs it just for gold is nothing but a scumbag in my book.

Need for Upgrade
Greed for everything else!

What makes you think a 300g worth upgrade is worth more than 300g?

In a guild run we have made an agreement on BoE epics (or really valuable blue BoE’s), we either sell it on AH and split the gold on those in the group, or if someone really needs it (and not outlevel it in a few) they just get it.

In a PuG, best is just set the rules up front. A lot of epics are not that special really and I would pass it up for someone actually needing it and not outleveling it in a bit. Krol blade kinda is BIS for a rogue, unless they get both Rend swords that might take ages or never happen, so to me there would be no question and the rogue gets it. (not saying because I am a rogue, and I already have it anyway)

An item like Krol blade though is exceptionally valuable. Sells for 400+ gold on our realm, probably more on others. If there’s no rules set an item like this will cause tension. Probably even with rules set.

I wait for everyone to select their roles
If a mage needs the Krol blade, I will also need
If I win the roll, the Rogue gets his blade and I will have the joy of ninjaing from the Ninja like some azerothian Robin Hood

The problem with this approach is its completely inept when everybody uses it. But, of course, then it buys some time to discuss it with your group members.

Oh yeah true, that’s why I wait to roll last to not inspire the same behaviour
Usually in these scenario’s its Just the ninja and the person who needs it Rolling
If I also roll on behalf of the person that needs the BoE, the Ninja has his chances of winning slashed and the Guy who actually needs it will have his chance of getting the item increases

It might be a botched way of thinking, but my reasoning is atleast I know I dont ninja and I always intend to give it up if I need for the above described reason so if someone is gonna try and Ninja I might as well try to frustrate said ninja

I’ve only done this twice so far (and it only worked out once, other time ninja still won) so its not like it happens all the time or enough for me to put more thought into it

Roll need, f rogues.
Jokes aside, it’s a group decision.
I have been in groups where everyone rolled on a Truefaith vestments, even though I needed it and is something I will use far longer than a rogue would use a Kroll Blade.
I have also been in a group where we let the warrior take Foror’s Compendium of Dragon Slaying, at a time when it was 900-1k gold.
At the moment, Kroll Blade is not valuable enough, in my opinion, to create drama over and it is going to decreese in value even further.

I greed all things I’m not going to equip. If you want to sell item, no matter to vendor or in ah, greed it. I’ll put to ignore every businessman, who think, that his own money is more important than the group power.

Truefaith vestments drop is a tailor pattern right? Not the actual gear

Availability and pricing fluctuations.

Quite irrelevant. Think about it for a minute.

So you’re telling me that if, at a time when there are no Krol Blades available, a guy other than me takes the item, that’s the same as if a guy takes an item worth 300g at vendor?

In the first one, there is a chance I can buy it off him. In the second, there is none.

Similarly, I have no recourse if he wants to price it at 2k other than… not buying it.
