same can be said for fracturing an IP into versions of itself…
like classic WoW vs retail
whilst LoL is a different type of game, the fan base may try the new mmo just because they enjoy the universe

Every man and his dog tries new MMOs when they are released, although it does depend on how much they cost.
stares at my league account and whispers to myself: This isn’t even an mmo… oh god have mercy on my wallet
This is true, just look at New World & Lost Ark at it’s launch, compared to what it’s at right now.
to put it plainly.
it has the highest probability to “kill wow”
with all the things i have mentioned
out of all the MMO’s to ever threaten WoW… its going to be Riot MMO
Tbf though, new world was hyped beyond oblivion, it was the feces my guy.
Ashes of creation is the current hype train cause it’s supposedly “right around the corner” buuuuttt
yeah there is a lot of hype around a lot of things, when they’re announced because it’s the new toy.
I stopped getting hyped over games a while ago, as I saw how the trend was starting to become with getting hyped, game comes out and it’s dogwater or it then gets flooded with microtransactions or like in Amazon Games cases, start to race change characters/change class names for no reason (Lost Ark is that example).
I know some people are awaiting Blue Protocol. I want to give it a try, but as it’s AGS behind it now, I really don’t see myself playing than for maybe more than a week before it’s uninstalled.
The same for Throne & Liberty, which was once called Lineage Eternal.
Do you only follow mmos or the gaming market in general?
I used to be into FPS games, but I’m older and no longer have the reaction times for those games, so I stick to MMOs these days as I can just relax while playing them.
Fair, otherwise i would’ve recommended helldivers if your pc can run it
now and then ill randomly buy an RPG game on the ps5 store
nothing better than blindly buying a cheap rpg game and spending hours on it
if you are ever bored , try something like that
Yeah my PC can handle that without any issues. It looks fun, but I would probably only play it for a few days and then revert back to my previous games.
Plus I don’t spend money randomly on games like I used too in the past, my Steam/Epic library is full of games I’ve never even touched xD
build yourself an arcane cabinet and build a pc into it with steam library set up.
viola!
you now have a working arcade machine
If you have m8s to play it with and not too heavy political opinions it’s pretty fun for a sesh every now and then, but over the long run you get tired of hearing FREEDOM or DEMOCRACY ACROSS THE GALAXY, funny the first hundred times a day, so make sure to reset that meter every now and then, then its a blast
Lego had a massive sale on their games recently, so im set for a bit with some good nostalgia kicks
survival games are my bread and butter, nothing better than building a shed and trying to survive
Wait have you tried the new lotr dwarf survival game then? I’m indecissive on whether or not to buy it, and an opinion would help
Yeah I have friend who play it and I’ve watched them play, while in Discord
I was watching some videos on the politic stuff and how the woke crowd were demanding pride stuff be added and the developers were like “nope!” gave me a good laugh
i was hyped about it, but decided not to buy it after hearing about the bugs in game
i may buy it when its cheaper
Ahhhh unfortunate thanks for the info regardless
But I have 496 games on Steam, 238 on Epic, 27 on the EA App, 19 on UbiSoft Connect, the games on the Battle.net App, plus the random games, which are not on those launchers (but are on them now, but you can’t merge your account due to restrictions etc). Games like GuildWars2, Albion Online etc, which were now part of Steam when they were launched.
So lots of content to keep me busy
Oh and not including all the ROMs
