Your low keys are useless come week 7.
Why?
Uh, slow, not bad. Remove the time-gate and increase the conq cap and it’d be perfect.
Renown upgrades WQ and PVP gear.
Ok, that is a fair complaint then. I was not aware of that. I apologize.
I told you why. Theyr taking away a fundemental part of many people’s sence of progression into M+. m2-M6 is not worth wasting time on unless you care much about rio which I do not.
I disagree, m6 is the tiping point for the Vault to give you gear = the last two bosses on normal.
So… you want to do them, but for the weekly stuff, not for the sake of the actual runs.
But then you talk abiout welfare gear, which does not add to my sence of progression of actually playing the game. It makes me want to run one m5/6 a week and stop.
That’s a wrong comparison.
Previously you’d be getting a lot more items as direct loot and a couple of higher level items in various chests. Let’s even say there was just one chest so we are only talking about a single higher level item per week. Now you are getting much less direct loot, but you get alternative choices for the higher level item.
What this boils down to is that in the new system, you are gearing slow from direct loot. Let’s say that at the end of the week you have a choice of different 207 ilvl items. Wow, a choice, cool.
But with the old system you were gearing faster from direct loot, so you did higher-level keys, etc. You were getting those 207 pieces as direct loot. And true, in the weekly chest you’d be getting just one item, no alternatives. But it would be 213. And it would come on top of the 207s that you already received as direct loot.
The new system is nearly never better than the old one. It’s a big downgrade. But it’s biggest fault is that it decouples rewards from content. People will just stop doing content, they will do the bare minimum to unlock the chest, because the chest is now 90% of gearing. This will reduce the number of runs and make what runs are left more toxic than ever. This already started happening.
Oh no, you want to run more, since you are risking to get no ugprade or upgrade in the wrong slot.
I mean, it happens even if you have 9 boxes so…
That is a fair point. But it seems that the goal here is to reduce the speed of gearing up in general. The devs clearly think that slower gearing will give longer goal to the players, and increase the longevity of the content.
It wont.
People will get frustrated of not progressing and will quit. Why the hell would i want to be doing raid and M+ time after time after time when the legitimate only upgrade ive had is the weekly chest?
Why should i even bother doing that content more and more when i get no loot bar the ‘bonus’ loot in the chest (not to mention multiple levels of keys give the same end of loot reward). The chest has ALWAYS been a ‘bonus’ for doing content since its inception. it is not, nor should it ever be the main source of gear progression like it is now.
What is wrong with people gearing and pushing content? Raid is tuned real well for a challenge this tier even if you’re geared at the ilvl it drops and m+ is an infinitely scaling sysrtem. WHY am i being hung up to dry and struggling to progress because i haven’t gotten loot in raid kills + multiple m+ runs.
Are you sure you want to spend 1000g on bonus roll coin just to get 35 anima
Dunno for that, it was the main source for most players that did not do mythic or high pvp.
Well, yes, but they made a mistake, they shouldn’t have removed rewards from content. Yes, people objected to titanforging. Yes, take it away. But replace it with something better without harming anything. Ie, the vault could have been giving you chances to reroll an existing item into a different item of the same ilvl for the same slot (or for slots of the same budget). That way, you’d get some trinket you don’t like, but you’d keep it and try rerolling it to the trinket you actually want. That’s just one way to go, I am sure there are others.
Reducing loot was a really bad idea, this traded one problem for a way bigger problem.
PS: Damn, replied to the wrong post. Sorry, Deadduchess.
Ninja pings! reeeee
That is a pretty good idea.
imo they are outliers. I agree gearing should happen via pvp, m+ and raids NOT from the chest. From its inception the chest was ALWAYS PITCHED as a bonus loot for doing content - pushing keys or rated pvp, now the raid too.
It shoud not be ‘the only way you can progress in gear is from a weekly chest’ as it is now for alot of people.
I mean, look at pure stat value.
If in BFA you did only HC raiding, you would hit a ditch at 470-ish (neck and cape puffing you up).
If you did only casual pvp, you would also stop near that mark (a bit lower, since you miss the last two bosses).
M+ base loot also stopped there.
Visions went 470
And… the rest was either weekly chest, high rating or mythic raiding. I can say for sure most of the players I played with were doing a mix of all in order to get a decent statline, but majority of the gear was either mythic raid or weekly chest.
But if you want better drops from the raid and M+, then the weekly vault would have to be nerfed. I do not see them doing that.
I get you though. Until recently I felt the same way you do. A month ago I would have been super angry at getting nothing after several runs.
