RP wise this char despises Silvermoon so I’m happy with the Durotar aesthetic and will be building a spiky hut!! BUT I think you will be able to build a nice belfy house just in the dustbowl or on the beach.
I hope some of the decorations will be made by professions, and can buy/sell them on AH. Like rugs/curtains from Tailoring, paintings/bookshelf from Inscription, bear skin rug from Skinning or LW, houseplants from Herbalism (or Alchemy?)
I’m wary after garrisons where we wanted race specific buildings and just got orc vs human. We will see, it’s early days and I’m sure more info will come out.
I just want my belf house in my belf zone, with no neighbours.
I very much hope they will quickly add extra districts to the areas so there is still only 2 locations but places with night elf or troll etc feels. A lot of people feel the alliance and horde are more than just humans and orcs and Stormwind and Orgrimmar were chosen for us as the main hubs and then they up an destroyed Dalaran and Undercity. Maybe one day they can do a combined one, i always liked the idea of humans living on top of undercity.
I don’t think adding a profession is a good idea. The exisiting ones are already unfun and neglected (imo of course). I’d rather see various items be able to be crafted with the exisiting professions, but mostly I just want stuff to drop. From open world mobs, from dungeon bosses, raid bosses, delves, achievements, renown, reputation etc etc.
It could give a huge boost to running older content if they retroactively alter the loot tables for bosses. Of course decorations and such should never take the place of gear drops - it should be an extra thing that drops.
For me, personal taste wise: No.
But in terms of popularity and number of players who play those races: Yes.
Then I do not understand who creates the private ones, if they do not own them.
In WoW? I’ve stopped pugging group content long ago because of our community which entirely lacks common sense and maturity in general (respect to the exceptions ). I still regularly have to report players for trolling public role playing events. So, no, unfortunately, I’m not very optimistic that people can behave.
Anyway, I’m just trying to understand based on the description how this concept is supposed to work.
I was also under the impression that solo ownership of a private neighbourhood will be the only viable alternative at present for those that don’t want to be with others.
Thing is… They’re releasing the system prior to Midnight; the expansion in which the belf zones are getting a major overhaul. So it makes sense it’s not there yet, but it also makes sense that it would be one of the first ones released after launch because they could totally plan it into their overhaul for the zone.
But it’s like with The Garrison. It’s the same considerations. With The Garrison there was also a desire to have different plot locations and different race architecture, but when push came to shove it was only possible to make a single plot location and a single architecture for Horde and Alliance.
And because there’s a story context and introduction to The Garrison – as there will likely be to Housing as well – it naturally leans into the Human and Orc angle, because those are the cornerstones of the respective factions.
I’m not. Orcs and humans are the whole basis of Warcraft.
Doesn’t mean I don’t want to see other racial areas, but I’m not surprised with their decision.
