Building in Azeroth: A First Look at Housing

“Deeply Social.” housing is as logical as having a mount get reduced to walking speed cause of environmental considerations
hello, i dont want to retreat to my home to have a conversation with my neighbour, if i want social interaction ill go to … well not inside my home!!

another thing, i want to sit with a apartment inside stormwind, i can live perfectly with the idea of all other players living in the same 5 apartments scatered over SW, as the garison zoning

another thing, i have no intention of having my home parked next to anyone able to screw over my enviroments look , i want cohesion, not a goblin /gnome rocket parked next to my elwin forest shed because mr or ms taught it was a cool house to have

another thing, i dont like sunshine, i want rain hail… a reason to be inside my home
i dont care if anyone else wants sunshine, good for them
id suggest a gnomish weather device inside my home to set my weather conditions

another thing, people moaning of oh my gawd functionality will kill wow like in wod!!1
i love functionality in my home
for example, a device that sorts out my bank on expansion (classic / tbc / wotlk etc) and places 1 item each minute into a bag that i can buy expansion slots for

that zone that is basicly a instance with houses scatered all over looks allot like what aion did, and my feel toward it was blank, im sure other player might love it but i dont

Having an opinion, sharing your opinion, and standing by your opinion is not being toxic. Even if that opinion goes against the opinion of others in the “discussion”.

Insulting people, forcefully telling people that their opinion is wrong, picking apart someones opinions looking for flaws to “prove them wrong”, and not respecting someones right to hold and stand by their opinion is being Toxic.

I only come to these forums to give Feedback to Blizzard. I don’t really care what anyone here thinks about it. They don’t need to agree with me, I don’t expect everyone to. But I do expect that my opinion and right to hold my opinion be respected.

I would rather people in threads (like Tah) just leave me alone rather than try to tell me I am wrong or try to change my opinion, or even discuss my opinion with me.

I’m here to give my feedback to Blizzard. That is all. Nothing toxic about that.

Where I can be helpful I am. But the game is in a bad state at the moment, and is falling down the toilet. So I’m going to be saying what I don’t like about it.

Agreed this side of things sounds great. Collect, craft, TP, old content/new content etc things to decorate your home the way you want. Your own little space to do with as you wish.

That sounds amazing!

yes i totaly agree

the only way i can see blizz adress this is by adding housing zones for each race otherwise we will get a circuis of having a orc hut parked next to a belf palace … i wonder how blizz ill keep this “Deeply Social”

If you look at the artist impression thing of what it will look like, the housing zone encompasses all three in one

And this is why my home will be in the Alliance zone.

Probably undead players too (the ones who like dark gloomy stuff anyway), with the zone apparently having a Duskwood inspired part too.

*Allotment garden garrisons with 50 plots

By making it the above mentioned apparently. Still not giving people choise on the location of it either, now just forcing you with neighbours on it.

Honestly, I liked what I’ve seen so far. Judging from the wording, it will be more complex than “choose Furniture A, B, or C to put in Slot 1” kind of deal. I don’t mind there being only one neighbourhood to start will tbh, the system is supposed to be evergreen, so the zone and furniture preview we got is probably just the bare bones starter stuff.

So far the RPer in me (which is most of me) is very pleased indeed. If they keep up the good work, housing might become my top activity in this game right after RPing. :flushed:

I’m tentatively optimistic about what we’ve been told so far. Obviously seeing is believing, so while I’m interested, I reserve judgement until we finally have the feature in our hands.

Also I’m low key disappointed that we’re retreading stylistic Garrison ground with the Orc and Human vibe, but I did see that coming a mile away. At least we’re going to get more options in the future.

Its true it adds for them, just very limited narrative. I wonder how one rp as fisherman living in sea on their fishing shack for example with this, or gnome/goblin having building with something tech or even remotely goblin or gnome related on it which neither of the orc or human structure has. I have to have very good imagination to make this anything to fit of forsaken theme aswell.

Then we will just have to wait to have these added. :dracthyr_shrug:

Ive been “homeless” in wow for past 20 years, its not end of the world in any case what they do with these 50 plots social experiments with neighbours located somewhere inland theme wise, I just find it all amusing how they made it

We literally don’t know how they made it tho.

We know enough to make the remarks that people have made so far in this thread, atleast what I have spoken of are known so far of it. This is not what I want and I find it amusing how they planning to make 50 plots neighbourhoods of it somewhere with human or orc themes.

If they later let me have single house somewhere with choise on its model or even remotely of its location then better. So far it is not, and the mentioned rp element of this is for very narrow setting that does not include even half of wows themes.

Too many people are jumping to all sorts of conclusions at the moment.

I mean, if you expect them to have 30 neighbourhood options and 90 sets of themed furniture for a feature they are just rolling out, then you might want to curb your expectations lmao.

Blizzard were made aware plenty of peoples thoughts of the horde / alliance themes limitations with garrisons. They had enough time to make more than alliance house and horde hut from this. Its not like garrisons and all the things what people hated about it were just yesterday, or that people wouldnt expressed their dislikes about it very vocally. They had plenty of time and plenty of data to gather what people like. Common complains have always been about the limited themes and lack of choise related location at all and now they did exactly that. Im not very far on calling this garrisons or wrong in general.
