Building in Azeroth: A First Look at Housing

The way I understood it is that when you got a house with a horde character your alliance character can use that too

Furthermore, it’s not just Warbands that cross factional lines but friendships as well, so you’ll be able to live in or visit your friends’ or guildmates’ houses and their neighborhoods with minimal restrictions regarding faction. For example, while it’s not possible for your Human character to buy a house in the Horde zone, your Troll character in the same Warband can, and then your Human can use it as if it were their own.

Yeah in terms of using your houses, the faction doesn’t matter. Only the buying part is affected by that.

But… Having a 3rd neighbourhood with a more neutral theme (Grizzly Hills maybe, mmmh?) would be nice.

Yes!

I think having the opposite faction walking about in the neighbourhood will be a bit odd with how faction flavoured the first two housing areas will be. I like the solution tho, I think it’s a great one.

What I don’t get is why they still make cross faction grouping up such a pain on grounds of some being against that, while simultaneously doing this.

I have to say I really like this

My little pipeline here would be fine in an orc themed house but my forsaken would probably like to live in a proper human house.

I get why they did the forsaken houses the way they did but atleast in my mind I think most forsaken would like to live just like they did before

As long as this housing system is free of any divisive politics I would be very happy.

Pls tell me how would they integrate any kind of politics into the housing features.

I get wanting it to be free of politics but I don’t see how there could be politics in it

Maybe yard signs with ‘Make Azeroth Great Again!’

That would be equally hilarious and disturbing

Players are running the show. So if you’re going to be in a public neighbourhood, you best prepare to see rainbow houses and such.

See above.

Also: IF we’re allowed to actually build stuff ourselves, you can bet there will be people making all kinds of iconography.

Ofcourse there will be.

You know I think a fitting punishment would be if people build such stuff they should get a three day ban and when they log in after that they can’t build a house but have to live in one of those big ugly apartment buildings we have here in Germany. We call it Plattenbau

Players these days are like I don’t like this feature OMG that means it’s political.

Mostly just nonsense.

Forsaken have their own architecture. And honestly, if they don’t add it, I’ll be very disappointed.

In what neighborhood will you live? :supervillain:

Asking for a friend obviously! :innocent:

Absolutely true I’m would be disappointed too.

Just wanted to point out I like that my forsaken also has the ability to live in a human style hous since he once was human/ is still a human

A private one.
Obviously. :innocent:

This is the Garrisons all over again. Horde gets mudhuts and Alliance gets an actual house with lots of nice looking and civilized assets. Blizzard learned nothing.

We don’t know that at this point tho.
The interior assets they showed do look like orcish but not just sticks and stones so we can assume we don’t get the classic mud hut we know.
I think they will do a take on the more modern looking orc buildings that we got for some time now
