Burning Crusade Classic Realm Consolidation August 10

Any news?

  • Keep LFD, Dual spec, Race and Faction changes in Wrath Classic (but not at launch)

  • Give 2 Era servers for TBCC

  • Let the RP servers survive.

And for all inhabitants of Hydraxian Waterlords: Will we once again meet on the pier in Theramore to go down with our server like we did in November 2018?

I still don`t give hope.

If the realms go offline, then I will, but not before that.
It took 8 weeks AFTER release, before Celebras went live.
8 weeks! Everyone told us to give up…

At least for the german board i intend to regularily update the thread with questions like “what the state”? so that, if any blizzard employee comes a long realizes, that the threads are still active and players give and want feedback.

And if i am sitting alone at a campfire.

Might do the same in this thread.

But if Celebras goes offline, I will be logged in until the realm is shut down…

If noone answers my invite for a farewell party at HW, I’ll come join your fire on Celebras.

PS. I was one of the English RPers supporting your call for a German RP realm, so it seems fitting that we stay together in this too.
My German migth not be good enpough for RPing but for a party it should be OK.

That would be great

Der Name sagt mir etwas…

Das ist ja echt klasse, im deutschen Forum haben sich auch schon ein paar wiedergefunden, von damals

The tauren sits down by the campfire, and sighs softly

maybe she would have to do a rain dance to get a message from the blue spirits!?

Well… but she was a druid, not a shaman.
So how could she summon one of these powerful elementals?

//Dear blizzard, please read and respond to your loyal roleplay community. This thread, and the german thread are full of unhappy roleplayers. Most of the 440 comments within the german thread are related to Celebras. Are we not worth an answer and to be seen?

Please don’t touch the unique RP servers (RPPVP, RPPVE, RP). We’re happy as is and people are coming back for WOTLK. Not all players want to be on a Normal, PVP or PVE server.

totaly agree!

there will be a lot of players coming back.
They will find themself homeless-

Please dont do this to the rp servers.
Since you alrdy opened the free transfers there is nobody on those realms who dont want to be there.
Keep the spirit alive!

In the Celebras forum one player already was confused… They wanted to come back, and found their home realm to be deleted.
Blizzard!!!

Dear Blizzard, please merge the PVE EN servers. Thanks.

A FULL list of realms? This is to say that you migth close down even more relms?
If you’re after sawing money, as many here suspects, it would be way more meaningful to make this happen in Retail where the number of servers, you could consolidate is way more than the measly 22 in Burning Crusade Classic.

If you “consolidate” even more servers, and even if you do not, a new PvE server would be much appreciated. All the 3 EU English PvE servers will once again be full when Wrath comes out.

Having no servers with the RP-ruleset has been my biggest fear for WLK classic – and it saddens me that this fear may very well become reality. I feel as though Blizzard made the wrong choices throughout TBC classic, taking the easy route to appease the delusional outcry from people wishing for greener pastures.

Blizzard should by now be well-versed in the rise and fall of player activity. WLK is bound to bring back players, just as TBC did. Not everyone who come back will want to play on a cramped server, and those of us who prefer to play on RP or RP-pvp servers may have no server to go to. Not to mention the issues of faction imbalance and botting…

Blizzard have created for themselves quite the mess in Classic. I’d rather stay on my dead server than be forced on to one of your utopic “mega-servers”.

The problem is, that there is a huge outcry from players, who only want to play on crowded realms.

That there are players, that might prefer a more empty realm and a completely different experience, doesn`T come to their (Blizzard and those players) mind.

I know both expericences, due to a friend i boosted a character on Firemaw (not willing to spend too much time leveling there… and i intended, to transfer this chaar later, when my friend stops playing, to a RP realm).

I know that i don`t like this experience, but prefer the “empty” RP realm.

I don`T get why everyone tries to force an experience up on us that we definetly not want. :rage:

For sure. If I’m allowed to offer a more cynical perspective, it feels as though the people who want to play on one-sided cramped servers are very much mimicking the mindset present in the retail playerbase. I find it a bit ironic that at the beginning of Classic people were chanting #nochanges as though it was some sort of divine, unfaulty incantation – and now we’re in a situation where people want things to be as convenient as possible, sacrificing the very soul of the game to get it.

That’s why the mega-servers are so unappealing to me.

I’m still here, screaming #noChanges given half a chance :icecream:
I too do not want or like the ‘overkrautet’ servers :frowning: :leafy_green:

I think along similar lines.
People say that “realm identity” is important to them, but if they have to wait longer than 15 minutes for a dungeon, the “realm is empty”.

Blizzard will not manage to get rid of this retail mentality.
IMHO they were faced with a choice: cross-realm LFG, or more realm-centric. but in that case on extremely full realms.

Obviously the decision fell on point two, which is why they also tried to completely empty the “low” realms and now merge them.

Basically I assume Blizzard has good intentions here, they certainly don’t enjoy taking realms away from players either, and for the majority of realms this was certainly the right thing to do.

They simply forgot that there are players who don’t like exactly this “overcrowded” gaming experience, they now try to establish.

Maybe they have good intentions. But still they should have looked for what kind of servers will be merged.
But it seems they don’t care that there will be no RP classic realms left then. RPers seem to be too small as a community.

I think Blizzard - after all these years - still doesn’t quite understand how RP servers and hardcore RP communities (as they inevitably form on small RP realms) work.
They probably thought they could treat the remaining players like everyone else.

I’m really a bit surprised about that.
Did they really forget what the German Classic Forum looked like for 8 weeks? We have turned it upside down
We always said, a small realm is what we want, and a “normal” one is out of question for us. I don’t know why they thought they could just take away our (I’m deliberately including Zandalar Tribe, Hydraxian Waterlords and Celebras) realms. Plus the “non RP players” who also prefer emptier realms.

If you had asked the RP community what they thought, the answer would have been clear and we all could have saved ourselves this trouble.
