I used to hate Rune of Power but not anymore, I think it’s a pretty fun and good talent now for getting those massive burst windows and big crit numbers on my screen. When I play without it, I feel severely gimped in my damage even though incanter’s works out to be more or less the same dps increase as rune of power over a long fight but you are lacking the burst when required.
I hope it stays, the range is twice as big as the rune so you can still be a little mobile and move out of mechanics and the two charges are fastastic as well for another miniburst window with meteor.
Please don’t dumb down fire mage even more with passive x% increases, we nee more abilties, not less.

I do agree that conflageration is really bad and could use a rework.

I use it as often as i can, but i do hate the fact that it cant move, but if it could move it would be overpowered.
What if instead it was YOU that couldnt move? just rename it chains of power and allow mages to still blink/shimmer with it.
It sort of has the same problem as Prismatic Crystal, its very powerful but easilly ruined by several things, but just like rune of power it rewards good play and i do think that you need to have things to learn, otherwise might aswell play classic and spam frostbolt all day long.

But then… what about the common strategy of jumping/running during combust so that no accidental hardcasts happen?

It could be done in a way that it decreases your movement speed by 99% instead so u CAN still move to cancel them.

Have it like cyclone so the chains pull you back, even if you blink lol… it would be so dangerous.
As for conflag, i have the best answer. That whole row (flame patch, living bomb) are the spells you use to spread your ignite instead of fb or pf. Conflag is the only passive one… but ye buff it a bit.
Also the figure your quoting for conflag im guessing thats ST, its a cleave ability that cleave dmg on adds without losing any gcds on boss dmg. It’s not meant to do much ST.
I agree. Never use it. Rather mirror image in solo content or incanter in pve

Its english, let me dumb it down. You dont do as much damage as you could be doing, if given the choice your raidleader should instead take a mage that knows how to and is willing to play his class in a more efficient way.
Unless of course you dont raid or care how well you are performing, in that case disregard all i said.

I doubt Retributor plays his mage seriously. People who’re casual/semi-hardcore at most on their main won’t care about min-maxing every single of their many alts. Since RoP requires a higher degree of rotation/mechanics/fight timings knowledge, it would make sense to go for a waaaay easier alternative. If I were to go for a, say, warlock alt where I want to do some casual stuff, I would probably go with a significantly easier build if the dps difference was 5-7%.

It should be a buff tipe of spell instead of a stationary spell. with a decent amount of CD time on it.

And dont forget out of all the casters we cannot take hits like warlocks that are tankier then most plate so wy should we be forced to be just as imobile as them

but the chance another one will replace it is extremely high even in wod rop was used it always sneaks in at some point and ALLOT of people just hate it as it changes how you play a fight completely its like you are playing a diffrent class with it and some people just dont like it and considering how mutch hate it has gotten it should not be a thing look at stuff that people complained about and got removed from mage yet for some reason this is the only thing they insist on having in

Lets be honest they hate it because it’s a bit more difficult than IF. It fits thematicly, it fits with fire and arcane burst phases, all you have to do is stay within a 16yard circle which is pretty big.

Fire mage is supposed to be the mobile one, though. Why do you think we have all the instants, 30% scorch speedbuff and guaranteed crits below 30% hp?

Arcane has instants and speed buffs too… pyroclasm build that was the standard from 7.0 to to 8.1 is a 4 sec cast. Also rune of power doesn’t stop you moving, you have plenty of room to move around. Tell you what would be a nice touch though if blink took your rune with you.
