I also ran a tracert using both the Huawei O2 hotspot and then the VPN to 185.60.112.157 and the trace request timed out between steps 2 and 12 with the O2 4G tether alone, but worked with the VPN throughout each step without timing out. I can post the screenshot somehow if needed.

This is incorrect, Iād say the most impacted people are those tethering using a Android / Linux device, as many connect boxes by providers do to tether āmobileā connections.
The issue is clearly the filtering rules on Blizzards side in this case. I do understand the reason that is done, to mitigate the flush since youāre most likely attacked by mobile devices around the world, but itās no permanent solution.
What youāre doing here is playing on time, and I can not accept that, though, I have to admit and know the situation is mostly out of your own hands. Just the communication about it couldnāt be worse.
To all those really attacking Blizzard, in this case theyāre really hardly to blame but for their communication policy. There is almost nothing you can do except for what they did.
For those comparing Cloudflare protection for HTTP traffic against a real-time gaming service - get to know your business, and stop talking. There are actually companies providing DDoS Protection for gaming services (as Prolexic is), but we could see on other games that itās just a matter of determination of the attackers if they can bring it down or not. And I bet that Blizzard has better protection and communication with their network providers in place than Prolexic. If they did not have proper DDoS protection, their services would probably always be down. Itās the scale they seem to have issues with.
Theyāll get around that, but thatās not an easy task, and a lot of providers will be a part of that. You can see easily on global DDoS / Traffic maps that this attack mainly comes from the Chinese/Asian playground, which is another indication for a strong use of mobile devices for the attacks.

4G Routers probably or very likely will change the TTL. Iād provide the model / build of the 4G router as well for Blizzard and O2 to investigate.
Not entirely true, I have O2 cellphone subscription and it works just fine with tetheringā¦ There could be something elseā¦ Only blizzard knows the best what they screwed up

VPN fails for me. I tried using tunnelbear and an OpenVPN connection via my private Email server which I normally use for general surfing on public WiFi

Yesterday when this initial happened I deleted the content of the Cache and WTF folders and forced my router to get a new IP address which did resolve the issue for about 30 - 40 minutes and only worked the once.
Today Iāve tried the same tactic but it still fails.
What device is the O2 cellphone? My O2 phone which Iām using to tether isnāt working when trying to play WoW, so perhaps itās not the providers but something to do with devices themselves?

Can we get an update on this from Blizzard please, Iām getting rather annoyed, and if I -am- charged for my subscription tomorrow, and this problem remains, I will be contacting my bank for a Clawback. Two days without a resolution or adequate feedback is not acceptable. This is not acceptable customer service. Tell us why this problem is occurring, and what -you- not we, -you- are doing to fix it.

Hello, changing TTL value fixed my log in issue as well, just for reference this is what I used on Ubuntu 18.04
sudo sysctl net.ipv4.ip_default_ttl=128
Hope it helps other people aswell.
This has actually worked for me. I am on Windows 10 and once I changed my TTL value I was able to get into the game
Ive just tried to log in this morning and I still cant. Blizz this is unacceptable, third day now and still cant access something we are paying for. When are you going to fix it? We want answers, an hour? a day? a week? Give us an update and stop ignoring your player base.

I have same problem. (WOW51900328) since sunday night (In middle of mythic progressā¦ little annoying.) I think the problem was sucess, when i arrive to home last day. Cuz i can log in, and i can play for 1 hour or less. But when i use HS, the problem was reborn. And when i try relog, i get same massage (WOW51900328).
And this problem able in wow companion us. So rly annoying. Cuz i pay a subā¦ so i hope the BLIZZ can solve this as soon as possible. And giva a compenzation for the players (some free day, or ectā¦)
