Yeah that is just like the megaservers I was part of in the last few years. Fun experience but I made sure to not have to go through it again when I transfered from Razorgore.
I was always expecting a large amount of players interested but not this many so quickly. I don’t think it will die down that soon and the next wave of phase 1 servers in a few years time will be as popular.
I experience the same. I had not your patience with /who - zone over 50, my level bracket over 50 - I stopped there.
But the most crazy thing is that this overpopulation do NOT seem to help people wanting to do dungeons.
I just played for a while, half an hour active time, interrupted by kids, chores etc. In that time I saw every mob instantaneously bashed by a player the moment it spawned (a Skinner’s paradise).
And during that same 30 - 45 minutes, I saw the same guy looking for a dungeon group. With the same success I had getting my kills.
This is so strange. Does nobody want to run dungeons, was he on the bad list or what? Finding a dungeon group, when the realm is full and the zone is overpopulated ought to be easy, only it obviously was not.
People are either grouping up with friends/guildies or doing solo stuff.
I’m a solo player personally (for several reasons) and grinding sucks when you have to compete with a handfull of other players who also prefer solo over grouping.
but I group up for things like Hogger, elites etc. And every once in a while I set off time to run a dungeon, because the mentalty has shifted. It’s more go-go-go than it was; and long gone are the days where we wait for a Healer or Tank for more than a few seconds. Where we try again and again if we wipe. Never more will I spend all evening in one dungeon, patiently waiting for the Hunter to put her baby to bed, the Healer going on multiple bio-breaks, fetching the Mage from somewhere outside as he died ect.

A handful in my mind means about five. If it was only five, I’d be OK with it, but when I try and get something done after 5 pm. it’s several handfuls at once I got to compete with.
But still I’m not going to take a break. I’m going to level up partways toons on all 3 Normal realms and the RP one too. That way I can be prepared to either stay, transfer or re-roll to a realm where I can finally get to play.
Well I’m not playing anything but WoW (and the no-brainers that come with Windows). But I did the IronMan Challenge in Retail, so I’m not going to burn out any time soon. I leveled more than 50 toons to level 30-55 (my max) and uncountable to somewhere below 20. I stopped when Scaling made it not fun any more (only doing Pacifists). I will eventually do the Classic IronMan Challenge when I have had all the fun normal leveling and playing can give me.
You can’t quit WoW Classic, not now. This is our second chance to enjoy the Vanilla experience on Blizzard servers. With that in mind, we can only hope that the development team listen to us and figure out ways of making zones less crowded.
I am happy for the people who managed to get to 60 already, but if they ever decide to re-roll, or level an alt, they’ll soon realize what an over crowded mess the game is now on Full servers, with layering disabled.
You need tank and healer to run the dungeon. You might have 100 DPS waitint for a single tank. So it’s not about number of people online, it’s about ratio between DPS and tank and healer.
All the DPS are out in the same zone as me, killing everything in sight.
I guess as a Priest I could go heal some dungeons… but I really enjoyed questing to level up, shame I can’t actually enjoy it now that phasing is being disabled on realms ready for phase 2.
My hunter has just dinged 49, however I have been struggling to get quests completed due to how busy it is at times … I have ended up just heading in a straight line and killing everything in sight just to get some exp/ level the pet and do also pop across to both lands and wander around … not fab as I’m not in a rush to get to 60 however am a quest junky and just want them emptied from my list.
My strategy was to only quest early morning when I was able to and otherwise just grind mobs. Dungeons were not really a farming option for a Rogue but it is the best thing to do for classes that are suited for that. Really grinding is just as fast as quests are it is just way more tedious.
