Sorry to break your bubble but alliance hit the miners first in the story alliance attacked first.
no matter the reason they started the war we are in now.
I couldnt agree more to it. No matter what if you are a leaver ( Saurfang) or act alone (Baine) you can never be right about it. Had they stayed and openly voiced their opposition would be waaaay better cause firstly that way you cant be assasinated cause its obvious who,but it would also make the subject everyone talks about in whispers, public instead and bring it forward.
So yeah Sylvannas aint all right ok.
But Saurfang and Baine acting like that aint no leader figures… and totally unfit for Warchiefs.
Talanji alone qualifies for the job among Horde leaders if anyone does more than Sylvannas…
No matter how you looked at it, the Alliance was going to attack the horde.
That’s why Saurfang agreed to attack first.
That’s why Baine never said anything even thou he knew.
To say that the Alliance was never going to go to war is hypocritical, unless you are Alliance, players have an all view of everything, characters don’t.
As for baine, there are two versions of Baine.
Warcrimes Baine which is an actually awesome written character that fits to be warchief, one menancing enough to tower over sylvannas and make her rethink her position.
And we get this baine who is andiuns side pet. Give me the warcrimes baine then I don’t mind him as warchief.

Baine was a friend of Anduin back then too.
Guess what? There’s probably a good reason as to why they are friends.
Maybe, just maybe it’s because they BOTH want peace.
But back then baine actually took action, wasn’t afraid and stood in the spotlight, this one just mumbles and lets things happen.
Alliance got intel that Horde is mining azerite and building “weapons of mass destruction”, I’m sure it’s for peaceful reasons, no?
Or Horde can have a… you know… non war crimes warchief.
So, that’s why he did what he did this patch then?
By going against Sylvanas? 'Kay.
Can we slaughter him instead ? I wanna taste some top quality chieftain meat.
Looks like Saurfang is going to dispose of Sylvanas, not sure if any of them survives. Baine will be released but both of them don’t fit as warchief, due to their actions, Baine is simply not prepared.
My bet we’ll get Loth’Remar Who? as warchief in the end.

What the alliance knew was that horde was mining something that had power.
This was before they even knew what azerite could do.
For all the alliance knew it could have steel, if it was not for that they could feel the power coming from it.
Even the horde at that point did not know what it was other then it having power.
Quest was “Checking what goblins are mining and getting a sample for research”, there was no mention of any killing, and then went to kill some goblin miners. I’d rather blame it on sloppy writing or quests, guess we can’t do any quests without killing something.
Guess it’s just blizzard’s way of making Alliance do the first move, even if so minor, to make burning of teldrassil seem less aggressive.

He backstabbed her and betrayed the horde, also ruined a huge opportunity to mess the Alliance up in this instance.
In Warcrimes he straight up showed he doesn’t like what he sees and acted upon it.
In warcrimes it wasn’t a state of war where we are on the brink of extinction rather, a state of aftermath were actions were critical, funny enough him and other characters standing up for Garrosh almost lead to our ruin.
Lor’themar won’t become Warchief because he doesn’t want the position. The only reason he is Regent-Lord is out of respect for the Sunstriders and because there is no one else but him to fulfill the role.
Because he values the Honor of the Horde over the Scourge Horde that Sylvanas is creating.
He is true to his tauren nature.
And why do you think we are in this war?!

SHE(!) caused this. SHE wanted WAR against the alliance for REASONS!.
She even went as far as to BURN THE NIGHT ELVES ALIVE IN THEIR FREAKING HOMES!
The Horde is facing extinction BECAUSE of Sylvanas. Literally NOBODY else.
Funny it’s honorable to backstab your allies but it’s not honorable to low blow the enemy.
A war in which he and saurfang agreed to, in which they even lent their armies into knowing exactly what was going on.

He betrayed Sylvanas, not the Horde. He acted on Horde beliefs and culture, he did exactly what a Horde would do, when they saw their warchief defile free will and kill civilians, raise people to undeath, he defied her. He did what Durotan did in the movie, he acted like Doomhammer acted after Durotan lost due to Guldan cheating, he acted like everyone acted when Garrosh crossed the line. Baine acted how everyone should’ve acted by now, and you can see no one supporting Sylvanas besides Mag’har leader*.

And it also didn’t involve leaving the primary objective of this whole stopping a war before it begins charade alive. But guess what, that’s exactly what Saurfang did.
