As i mentioned multiple times according to data cata is one of the most successful expansions however you canāt read it properly so keep living in your own world. (It had more subs than Legion btw)

You didnāt mentioned ANY data. First we are talking about Classic, which as we speak, IS the worst of them all ( from Classics ). If you want data, I can give it to you.
Secondly, Vanilla Cataclysm is THE first expansion to start losing subs. And by losing I mean millions : 3 ( 2.9 ). Thatās not the definition of āone of the most successfulā. In contrary, is one of the worst.

Yes itās not 100% confirmed (since we dont know the scale) however if you compare these two i would like to know how can anyone come to conclusion legion was more successful. I mean yes i suppose you could say Legion had worse starting point therefore gaining some subs (in comparison to wod) is success in comparison to cataclysm which Lost some. In the end it depends on point of view.

Basically same as every expansion after that, wow became seasonal game which you play for new content then quit it is what it is. As i explained before there are better games on market so itās way harder to make people keep playing. Stop living in the past.
Cataclysm came after THE best expansion ever, Wotlk, with THE best peak players ever. Of course the hype following the next expansion was HUGE and because of that, at the start of the expansion, there were lots of players. BUT! Butā¦it soon dropped 3 million subs. That means 1 thing : Cata Bad !
Legion came after 3 bad to very bad expansions and managed what Cata would never be able to : To hold players interest, retention for almost the entire of expansion.

You came too late, or you are using the wrong version of WoW.
For me, best leveling was Vanilla Classic to Wotlk. In Cataclysm is literally retail leveling.
