same can be said about the people who makes use of the vote silence function to shut down said freedom of speech, especially if the person they report actually did nothing wrong. Holymong, I don’t think you have a clue what you are talking about. The simple principle here, which is wrong, is that X# of votes, whether true or not, result in a chat ban. This system is open for abuse and ridiculous. Furthermore, the idea of sanctioning chat, which individuals believe (subjectively) to be objectionable should not be a reason for the application of a general sanction.

To the OP, I actually quite like the vote to silence. I’ve played the game the entire time it’s been around and focus more on pvp. The chat in BGs gets ridiculous with how people communicate with eachother. It is the reason I just click off the chat panel and display the combat log instead.
If someone gets silenced because they are childish or insulting, then it’s great. If it gets abused in some way to create a result of what that team wants, then so be it.
Either make a cup of tea and play the next one, make a pre made of your own or put up with it. I’d rather have it than not. There are some nice polite and good people that play the game still.

If someone gets you chatbanned for taking a gy in AV i promise you will get that ban reverted instantly by a GM.
