Chat bans by voting - Remove

By the time that happens the game will be over.

dont worry, conquest is a dying l00twh0re guild. zmug is one of the nicest members

The fact that you “like” the vote to silence is irrelevant. It is factually a bad system, because it can be abused, and a chat can easily be hidden if you aren’t interested in reading, and if a player is on your realm, ignored. Indeed, you admit the former alternative yourself so your opinion on this is worthless and clearly only to allow YOU to exert control over others.

That you are willing to sacrifice a lot of freedom for a little bit of arbitrary, mob-voted security based merely on feelings, shows how little you know about these matters.

If you’re polite, but painfully stupid and throwing games (wasting everyone’s time), what makes you think people should then have to continually speak to you civilly? If people fail repeatedly, they need to be reprimanded.

I strongly recommend that GMs eliminate this absurd feature as soon as possible.

If it this useless feature absolutely must remain, then:

  1. The parameters need to be increased (i.e. requiring 39 reports within 5 minutes - if language is clearly grievous, then surely all will agree) AND;

  2. the detail of these needs to be clearly laid out for players;

  3. The player being reported should also receive a notice with a count, as to how many reports they have received, so that they can gauge how many snowflakes have been offended by asking them to “run to the flag fools”, this way one can calibrate their behaviour, as they might find some things normal, whilst those same things might mean the sky is falling for a snowflake.

  4. Disabled on cross realm battlegrounds.

  5. Individuals should be capped on how many such reports they can file a day (some people are perpetually aggrieved about everything).

  6. Lastly, in some cases players will flame each other, as personalities/instructions can clash. If player A insults player B, then any reports from player C should be discounted entirely, as they were not the direct recipient of the relevant insult. Merely seeing a naughty word or a harsh criticism is NOT a substantive reason for sanction on player A.

Lmao.

Re-read my posts, that’s not what is being discussed nor is it what happened.

american english is used on the internet. british english is for cucks like scots and irish which have given up their culture and languages for english. English english is more french influenced.

Actually my opinion is about as worthwhile as yours on the matter. We both have valid points we put across. Saying someone’s opinion is worthless is merely the acting’s of the naive.

I feel that you’re missing one very important element in all this.

It simply comes down to how many people you interact with. If you play AV with 79 new people all day every day you meet tens of thousands of players.
If just 0.1% of those people report you you will get a ban.
On the other hand, if you’re the biggest racist on the planet but you never leave Silithus, even with 100% of the people you meet reporting you, you will never be banned.

It’s a horrifyingly bad system. Not only for all of the reasons that you listed but for so many more.

Your point is invalid for the reasons I laid out many times above, I suggest you read them, and if you still don’t get it, go read some basic philosophical and legal works.

Well because you stated your opinion doesn’t make it fact or true. It’s merely your opinion on the matter. You think you’re right because you understand it from your point of view.

If you chat like this in BGs it’s no wonder you get voted and kicked, it’s quite annoying.

That’s also a good point, but it depends how it works. We have NO real clarity from Blizzard as to how it works. I presumed, perhaps naively, that Blizzard couldn’t aggregate reports in that way, however, if they do aggregate in that way then it’s completely unconscionable and needs to be removed immediately.

Re-read my reply then if you have trouble understanding.

I made a reasoned argument using simple logic supported by self-evident statements. It seems you don’t understand what you’re talking about. Facts and logic don’t change based on point of view unless the other person is a fool and doesn’t agree with the usage of logic and reason, in which case, they are a worthless barbarian illiterate and their feelings are irrelevant, as decisions made in that way will produce disastrous results.

I guess you’d like to BAN me right now if you could. You’re annoyed by someone, and don’t like being wrong, so you’re looking for your banhammer. This is exactly why this system is garbage.

This thread has derailed and is being locked. If you believe a (chat)ban is unwarranted you can open a ticket to appeal.
