Check PvP - How to protect yourself and your Characters

Boosted in rbgs some say …

A CM should unflag it at some point then. It’s not reportable content even if it comes off as kind of hysterical

To be honest having a buried OP gets a thread more traffic anyway, it doesn’t really do much beyond saying that (at the very least) one person relogged five times to press the report button

Alas, a common action to report bomb posts when certain people disagree with it.

Yep, seems so!

I agree there; should be back in a little while. Thanks for your assistance

Yeah, we have evidence of that with a bunch of harmless clown emojis getting filtered in the same way when this thread started.

Yeah it happens with IC letters sometimes too

If u know … u know

I actually don’t

Actually, I would consider the clown emojis for spam if I were a CM. Not constructive posting.

Remember the times of Alt-O-Matic web plugins? :pensive::fist:

I feel like if someone is truly trying to hide their alts, there’s not really anything they can do - if there’s a suspicion on someone and I want to check if they’re some other person, I’ve quickly checked them on check pvp, but also armoury check.

Check-PvP isn’t even that reliable, be it to hidden alts, or the characters themselves not showing (think I only have one alt showing?), that I’ve always had to armoury check afterwards. That is also publicly available information that you can’t hide.

Unfortunately, if you are stalked and harassed, unless you keep a very low profile on your alts you’ll very likely be found out again. In those cases, I advise just reporting them to Blizzard, since there’s nothing else you can do aside from constant /ignoring.

I imagine that was more to do with the trollish way they - and the first few comments in general, were employed. Although I’ve heard that this was a case of said people “misreading the room”, and thinking this thread was something which it is not.

Nah, your imagination is off. They were harmless clown emojis.

Even so, the jabs at neurodiverse people were not! But that’s several long hours behind us now

Neurodiverse this

The right to block a stalker should beat that of hiding your alts, unfortunately. Switching to an alt to harass someone that blocked you is a pretty common thing.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

You have a nemesis?

I think this does just tend to be how it goes, unfortunately. If someone truly cares about trying to bother and stalk you in-game there are still ways to find people without these 3rd party sites.

I personally think it’s slightly more important for an individual to retain their comfort and privacy than a guild to be able to screen it’s members preemptively, as in my experience guilded weirdos tend to out themselves eventually. It’s still needless drama that can easily be avoided with tools like this though, so I can obviously sympathize. I’ve been through and done it myself.

I just think that if unwanted people sneak into guilds/communities, these communities still have themselves to fall back on. If I’m being stalked/harassed by some guy, maybe I only have myself or I’m simply not comfortable discussing it.

I think the middle ground may just be tighter/stricter moderation, but there’s only so much we can do.

They’re harmless for sure, but they also add literally nothing and would have just been better replaced with an actual opinion of disagreement, imo.

It’s a bit of an arbitrary point though, I can concede. I’m still mentally stuck in a world where threads lock automatically after 26 pages, so …

The second page button… I CAN NEVER FIND IT…

That added nothing to the discussion and were clearly meant to mock the OP.

It’s trolling, flaming, or both. You also called someone ‘‘neurodiverse’’ and said they forgot to take their ‘‘medication’’ so don’t pretend you don’t know what you’re doing. These forums have been infested with garbage for years and it’s about time they get a clean up.

Do the crime, serve the time.
