Check PvP - How to protect yourself and your Characters

Famosium with the big call outs

“Neurodiversity is an approach to learning and disability that argues diverse neurological conditions [such as dyslexia, ADHD and autism] are a result of normal variations in the human genome. This portmanteau of neurological and diversity originated in the late 1990s as a challenge to prevailing views of neurological diversity as inherently pathological, instead asserting that neurological differences should be recognized and respected as a social category on a par with gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability status.”

edit: this is a quote, quotation marks arent showing idk why
edit 2: now they are, nice server btw

Aaah… a posh way to call someone a R-word.

Not exactly, but as we’ve seen, it can be used in that derogatory context if someone wishes to try and be harmful.

Thank you for your post, it was a gud’n! :blue_heart:

You’re welcome!

I see this discussion going around in a circle, following two arguments:

1: Hiding your alts on Check-PvP can be abused by stalkers/trolls to avoid being caught,
2: NOT hiding your alts on Check-PvP opens you up to abuse from stalkers/trolls.

One important thing to remember - and I know this because I recently witnessed someone being stalked in-game;
If you see someone trolling, griefing, stalking, or otherwise being intentional disruptive to other people’s enjoyment of the game, report them and provide as much detail as possible regarding the abuse (time, date, place, character names etc.)

Nothing will happen instantly; nothing may even happen on the same day - but the reports do get noticed, and the more people who report these players the better.

You can always just not have alts! Leaves others with nothing to track.

You learn something new every day. Thank you.

“Abused” ?

You don’t have the right to someone’s identity. You’re not the FBI.

In the unlikely event this thread does get removed (due to the nonsensical flagging) - I’d like to say I’m really pleased with the overall direction that the conversation’s been heading toward: Civil for most part, barring a handful of folks hell-bent on transplanting their negativity onto a healthy debate, and raising a great deal of awareness of the problem at hand.

Thanks to everyone so far who’s contributed positively to the thread, from both sides or none.

You can always, unless the automated sistem suspends you, make a new thread if this one gets deleted.

Very true! :+1:

“It’s my god-given right to upvote my own posts with alts!”

-Altposter, 2021.

I would not worry that it get deleted from the OP flagging. At worst, it might stay “hidden” for a couple of weeks if moderation is low or get locked for other posts.

At which point, as Zagkush said.

I mean… If you really wanted to avoid being detected by this site. Doing dubious stuff anyway… All you’d need to do is uncheck or hide that character you wouldn’t want to be tracked back to right? Afraid if you want to protect your guilds or communities from would be guild invaders like that, The best way would to ask for full alt transparency. Or just flat out reject anyone with hidden characters.

Yep

Pretty much the 1 available avenue unfortunately

Time for a :blue_heart:

That seems impractical in the long run?
