Check PvP is dead

No they are still there, but maybe you try the new alternative to check pvp.

www.pvp-mate.com

Tell me if you liked it or not = )

Honestly, the domain just sounds dirty. Considering the amount of people linking to alternatives, maybe one should assume it’s people related to the development of the sites themselves that’s creating the posts?

But the reason as for why it sounds dirty, is because ‘mate’ is used in a sexual meaning in most of the world. British people are the strange ones for using it like they do.

Of course i am related to the development.
A .com domain sounds dirty? hmm we are not talking about .cc or a crazy subdomain. (i dont want to mention those dirty .fr domains  )

Can you tell me what other alternatives are linked here and are not dirty? I would love to see the competion

It’s not only the type of ending that defines ‘domain’. DNS is what you call the replacement (as in masking) of the IP in order to simplify the usage of it. Domain name system.

And of course, the different types of endings are short for their own things, like .org is short for ‘organisation’ and so on, but is mostly decided for aesthetic reasons only.
Your chosen mask for the IP is the domain though, which includes the name you yourself (or you guys) chose for it. So in other words, it’s not “one or the other”, it’s both combined.

sorry but if you are talking about a domain sounds dirty then the domain name is the thing that looks dirty to you.
No need to explain how DNS works. I cant even imagine how an ip can look dirty.

Are you deliberately acting obtuse? It’s a rhetorical question, so don’t answer it. I’ll just leave you to yourself, so feel free to ignore me because I’ll do the same to this thread.

You are a funny guy! I like you

The only thing at pvp-mate that is “sexual” is that it looks so damn sexy

LU2 bru :love_hotel:

Yo mate, looks damn dope mate.
I wouldn’t let toxic priests talk it down mate.

Thank you Karanze

Must say, I think Checkpvp’s UI is a lot cleaner. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Good attempt tho.

Yes I agree that Check-PvP’s UI is a lot cleaner, and this does not offer anything that Check-PvP doesn’t already offer.

Thanks for your feedback.

The ui will get more and more optimizations. we are less then a month online

i would love to hear if you could tell me more precise what is not so clean at pvp-mate.

Without any long thoughts i can tell you 5 things that check pvp does not offer!

  1. display of primary & secondary stats
  2. percentage winrates
  3. comments on char profiles
  4. twitch channel on char profile. (we will add more and more. right now we are testing it on pshero-stormscale and some others)
  5. the fastest* advanced wow leaderboard available

and many more not mentioned or to come

If you can think of any other feature that you are missing please tell me and i will do my best to integrate it.

*maybe there are others that are fast

Well, I can only speak for myself so, personally I only use Check-PVP to see people’s CR and experience on the class they have listed in LFG, this extra stuff is irrelevant to me.

Ok got it. This is already on my list to highlight those things more.
Thanks for your feedback!

Wait, WHAT?!
I never checked out the site cuz I’m not interested in it, I just found the name to be a bit off.

And I’m sorry, I said I was gonna ignore the thread but I’m gonna break that “promise” for this one exception, because of the risk.

Thing is, when you let people say what they thought of a player on a place where people are already using it to vet strangers, you are then creating a problem.

Like I mentioned in that other thread the other day about the upvotes and downvotes not being useful and whatnot, these things can be abused so easily. Now, even under the presumption that it WON’T get abused, you still don’t take into account the existence of differences between people. It’s like forcing kids in kindergarten to hold hands and play with each other despite hating each other (for whatever reason, doesn’t matter), without providing tools to resolve the conflict.
Because they will fear the repercussions of leaving a bad impression too much.

So let’s say a person is searching for others to play with. It’s a decent guy, but doesn’t like, let’s say, feminists. Then comes across such people more often than not while trying to find people to play with. As a result, they part ways, and let’s assume it’s not done in a friendly way, or what’s common in the game that the person just cuts contact and leave the party and places the player(s) on ignore or just stops answering (same thing in the end).

What you’re creating is a place where both sides can start “punishing” the other. Some might even recruit friends or use other guild members to start writing really bad comments about the person in even larger numbers, and there’s no guarantee it’s based on truth or just a misunderstanding or just out of spite.

So while it’s a decent guy, it will affect that guy and might even stop the guy from finding that hypothetical “perfect team” to play with, because some comments resulting from nonsense said some really mean things about the guy and thus creates a false image that the guy is toxic to play with when the guy was just avoiding what he himself thinks is toxic to be around.

The illustration provided is only for the sake of explaining how the effect can go, and you can replace anything with anything that works as a replacement for you as long as the point remains the same.
I’m not saying I’m against feminists and this doesn’t represent my personal view, but it’s a common point of contention in today’s society.

But the point is, you need to let people make up their own minds after having talked to and/or played with the person, if it’s a good fit for them. You’re just adding fire to the fuel of toxic anonymous behavior when you let people affect the view other people will get of a stranger that they might’ve tried out, before they even do so.

Oh right, and let’s not forget the possibility of using bots or getting others to write false reviews to create a false good impression instead.

No bots because you need to login with battle.net to comment. Until now nothing bad happened and i guess the battle.net login will scare most trolls away

The longer it remains a function, the bigger the chance people will start to abuse it. Not to mention the premise of differences existing between people. Just read it all.
But yes, people will likely not bother to care about it until it becomes popular. If you manage to break through and become the go-to site, then it will incentivize such abuse more.

i got your point.
i will definitely watch over all comments that will happen and i dont mind to change it to votes or to disable it completely.

FB Like votes with no downvote maybe hmmm

Thanks for your feedback =)

read the stuff I wrote in this thread regarding votes on such sites: Glad.gg - new interesting pvp site

Regarding the possibility to comment, just keep this summary in mind:
