Yeah no way anyone uses ret paladin. They will just go still with augvoker and add enh shaman+acrane mage as it has not been nerfed at all.
They should be nerfed because there damage is clearly too high. Aimed shot and rapid fire just deletes people. I never said lets nerf hunters because they are being played in BG. Why are you being such a tart?
most likely. Unless big skips are still possible in few dungeons. but practice will tell.
So you finaly gave us the tools to make fire aoe talents useable again and are now nerfing those tools to suit a tiny tiny portion of the playerbase doing +25 mythic content.
You also fubard fires mastery talents so we had to totaly rework our stats from haste / mastery to haste / versatility.
And also made the alternatives to SKB so unapealing that yet again we do not have real choices in the fire tree.
Oh and to top it all off, you are nerfing living bomb, which by default has been put in a very stupid part of the talent tree and no one press’s it during single target rotations, living bomb which btw does totaly laughable damage compared to literaly every other aoe damage out there.
Seriously what are your devs doing, cause it clealry isnt playing the game or understanding the game in any shape or form.

why would they nerf an underplayed spec because some people are deleting each other in bgs where you can make literally any spec broken with builds and consumables and buffs that you otherwise wouldnt use

They nerfed a busted spec. Whoever says it was not busted, he has no idea what he is talking about.
I’ve seen Fire mages on my alts, in 12s-14s that were same gear as the rest of us, and pulling 30% more damage, but died instantly when some avoidable damage was there (hence a bad player on a busted spec). So they nerfed a spec that was overperforming in all levels.
Just because Average Joe can’t play it right, and it seems like it doesn’t do anything in lower content, doesn’t mean it is like this. In means that Average Joe should spend his crying time better, like improving his gameplay

They nerfed it because of its potential alone. Its not blizz fault players can’t play it right. A lot of people cry for dps on some classes (BM, DH as examples). Their dps is just fine. Their problem is the utility. But because vast majority of the players is under 20s, and never been upper than that, they think that the only reason why a class is bad is their dps, because ‘i WaNt mE oN DetAiLs tO tOp’. With the addition of mass shield, mage contributes to healing checks as well. Adding this to the insane damage and decent mobility in a fight, it makes a pretty great argument why fire with its damage was busted.
exact example? because it’s about burst or can mage constantly have such a damage?
I don’t know the max target number of mage. but also dh easily manages more than 600k in fh first pull with 2-3 dmg buffs and hero and aug in the group. spriest also slams 400k in.
and I often see rets with more than 400k burst.
and you have to take a close look at the whole thing. because there are too many factors at play here. like multiple dmg buffs, trinkets, target count etc.
You are talking about 1 pull and that makes all classes even? I can go up in that pull over 900k every time as arcane. Same does Afflication lock (and had like 3 who went to 1.2M in that pull). And I bet there are a few other classes that can do that. Problem is that, the stars align perfect there, as all the conditions are met.
Fire mage finish overall the dungeon with over 300k. And it does that constantly. DHs will never finish it with 300k. Not in their wildest dreams. And second dps in meta was shadow priest, and not even it was able to do that. It’s a class that had 20% more damage than any other class in high content.
But people don’t think they are busted yet, because on their keys level is full of newbies, and that’s why blizz should preserve the class like this : to give them a chance to do content. Guess what: High end/tier/gear means you have to deserve skill wise to play there, not to be carries by your class or whatever, and that’s what a lot of plays don’t understand.
Blizz already made high end gear available for everybody with 2 brain cells. What else is to be wanted?
The spec was busted, and doing a surgical perfect fix to nerf it in a way where it’s still S tier, but not S+++++++ tier is a waste of time. Just nerf that stuff and end of story. Blizzard did it right
overall. For full dungeon. Only mage can do more than 300k. And it’s 366k. In few packs mage can do above 2.5kk bursts. So 400-600k it’s joke. Nobody of not mage players can’t pass 300k. Mage do 366k. Overall.
That’s a pretty reasonable overall damage for fire mage in a fortified brackenhide being played at the highest level of competence.
Not reasonable from a balance perspective, but very doable / repeatable.
