I just leveled a character to 60 and the level at which this game is not played is horrifying. I always see the same 10-20 names in chat looking for group for dungeons; when I join a UBRS it is guaranteed that I see 2-3 names that I already came by. ZG pug is a thing, but in the past 2 weeks haven’t seen a pug for a normal raid like MC/BWL. I created a char here to raid Naxx at some point, but at this rate idk if it is a possiblity. Is classic era already dead? Or did I choose the wrong realm* (Netherguard Keep**). Was just wondering if any realm is like this.
Edit: made some mistakes when I wrote this post on-the-go, so editing for clarity:
*this is alliance side
**messed up - realm is Pyrewood Village. Checked now and this is supposed to be the heaviest alliance-side PVE server next to Everlook (?).
Most players are at Season of Discovery, it could also be a classic realm choice yea.
I don’t really understand why you would make such a post when I confirmed your own point: That it is a realm choice thing.
Most players who used to play Classic, HC, or Wrath moved to Season of Discovery and that is the main reason why even the most popular Classic realms are currently underpopulated.
I expect they will return in the future potentially depending on how SoD Phase 2 goes.
According to ironforge.pro, last week the Horde side of the PVE cluster had 469 players participate in a raid that was logged on warcraftlogs.
Seems somewhat playable, but the PVP cluster, or Alliance side of the PVE cluster, are much more active by comparison.
Weird, I see groups Ally side all the time so I assumed you talked about Horde.
However, the advice still stands: join a guild - and make sure to join the different guild’s discords as well.
Really struggling to believe that a gimmicky version of WoW known as SoD singlehandedly defeated Classic Era, hence to me your “hurp durp SoD” reply was without bearing. Sorry if it is something you disliked.
Well you could take a look at the SOD forums on how popular it is, around the time when it released the realm activity went down on all other game versions including retail with plenty of players making preparation to join this seasonal realm type, having done so far by this post from now.
I was skeptical too but it apparently gives enough variety for peeps to get there and stay too.
yes and in the meantime era is already becoming more active since SOD launch. and don’t get me started on retail which suffered the least from the SOD launch the effects are barely visible.
i played on era since i’m not that much interested in SOD and play it more casually, activity IS rising bro. TBC killed era but SOD couldn’t achieve that
SoD killed ERA, as predicted.
Sad if (like me) you have literally 0 interest in playing that “FUN” private server, that is capped at lvl 25.
Btw , I wonder if people are still able to make 500k honor / week now , I guess SoD utterly killed the ranking system and the PvP gear is off the table too now.
