Classic is DISASTROUS for retail

Idk… I honestly thought BfA (and Legion) seemed like improvements in comparison to Cata and WoD. At least it’s exploring interesting parts of the lore. :stuck_out_tongue:

I suspect a lot of players (myself included) returned for Classic due its mature and non-streamlined formula and wouldn’t be playing retail in any case. Sorry.

People choose to play a superior game over garbage. What is so hard to understand? That is how it works. So thank you blizzard, I ocassionally spent 13€ just to play what was left of once a great game.
Now with classic, I can really say I paid my 13€ to play something I actually love playing.

Moral of the story: Listen to the community. And remember, blizzard, you think you do, but you don´t (know what we really want… or do you now?

I honestly didn’t even know BfA had lore. Or you mean that thing about farming Azerite?

Legion’s lore was great, at least during leveling. I didn’t pay any attention to lore when I reached max level, and I got bored and unsubbed 1 month later.

WoD was probably the best chance for Blizzard to capitalize on the glory of the Old Horde. And they butchered it so hard by turning them into the bad guys that I didn’t even touch that expansion as I find it repulsive.

Cata, at least until 4.3 was released, was totally fine lore-wise. It was nice to quest in Hyjal and it was amazing to finally see Therazane in the flesh (or rather, stone).

I think BFA was the last expansion to WOW retail, and that they are working on a new MMO (Diablo 4). That will be released after TBC or Wraith. But hey - anything can happen :stuck_out_tongue:

I sure hope it’s the last because there’s nothing left to suck out of current WoW’s lore. Just demonizing different figures for the sake of content is not content.

Old gods? Aszhara? I like the lore in bfa. You seem like a reasonable person, judging by your other posts, but saying you didnt know bfa had lore…well yea. Turns out you are just another, retail bad…classic good, drone.

No, it’s not. When was the last time you had a 40 v 40 BG with vehicles in Classic?
Did you by any chance became a multi-arena-glad in Classic?
Oh, wait.

/sigh. Yea. Let retail die. So we can go in a circle again.

If you think that the Old Gods (C’Thun, N’Zoth, Yogg-Saron,…) ever were good characters, I have bad news for you. You can’t even comprehend the Vanilla/Classic lore.

Erm…? I didnt say that lol.

Yeah, Yup, fixed now. You can’t take a quote out of a quote on these forums… Weird… but nvm. Sorry, heh

jezus where do you people come from ?

just because someone doesnt enjoy enjoy something it doesnt me he hates it .

ill give you example - i think that Classic is a garbage game for todays standards and compared to retail

but at the same time im glad its there because now everyone can try it for themselves instead listen to bs on forums .

they can try and decide if its for them

for me ? its a old school rpg for sleepless nights. and because its gonna be out there for years i know that eventually in like 5-10 years i will get all classes to max level once to have a nice pokemon-like collection of them

its a virtual museum that is nice to visit once in a while.

why do you think people hate it ? jeez

I have to disagree with BfA being the worst expansion. Sure it’s bad, but by far Cata has to be the worst. That’s the one that started the process of removing all the flavour from the game. It’s also the first time we saw the arrogant face of the devs, with the now infamous “wow dungeons are hard”-post.

I´ll give you an example, I think BFA is a garbage game for the last 20 years standard.

You mean the way the twisted the lore to once again resort to Old Gods? No, thanks.

Ask yourself a simple question - if the naga really were allied with Deathwing, the Twilight Hammer cult, and the Old Gods, then why didn’t all this content come during Cata, where all of this was central for the expansion?

No, dude… Just no.

And if you, as a consumer, can let yourself be fooled around with Old Gods, both known and newly made, for 15 years, then I have bad news for you too.

To put it in other words, making up Old Gods out of thin air and basing entire expansions on them (when there is nothing else to base them on) is not content.

Sure, they play a central part in the lore, but when you have to demonize faction leaders and resort to Old Gods for the majority of your content, then you have a problem. And the problem is that the game is exhausted.

You obviously don’t know the lore and don’t understand what Old Gods are and why we can’t kill them once and for all. Also, I’m playing BGs, don’t really care about the lore tbh. But even I know what is and why.

I’ve probably read more lore on WoW than you’ve read books overall, but okay.

If you’re letting yourself be force-fed Old Gods every next expansion and you actually even accept that as normal lore, then retail and BfA is exactly what you deserve.

WoW after 4.2 is not WoW. Muting this thread.

The Lore really isnt An issue in BFA
Most people who complain about it, complain about their own interpretations which are often not even factual
I dont blame you, I shat my pants at holy dreadlords from space as well, but thankfully they’ve left that behind, lorewise BFA is great if youre able to see the hidden agenda’s, very little is as it is portrayed in the game which is likely intentional. If you take it at face value (which imo you shouldnt do but this is what most Lore complainers do) and the finalle is going to be a mindblower, or rather, it better be with all this build up
The only issue is player agency, the player char is much more involved only we have no control

BFA’s issue is the power progression system makes you want to not progress (AP & Azerite Gear) and m+ is just… screw pugging (but tbh I’m starting to feel the same way in classic)

Old gods conceptually are also from WC3 and predate Vanilla (old ones)
