They banned people for the XP potion exploit and they should be banning people for exploiting layers too (especially since exploiting layers is infinitely more damaging than just levelling up faster in a game where the objective is to get to endgame as fast as possible).
It’s probably much, much too late to fix the damage this has caused but they can at the very least put their foot down and make examples out of those who exploited layering.
The exploit has been streamed, they know which people are openly exploiting it and making it more well known and chat logs should provide enough damning evidence for them, all they have to do now is drop the hammer and quickly, i’d rather not have to start from 1 again.

Well, they banned people for the raid exploitation. But, they banned nobody in relation to how many abused it. I know a lot of people that walk freely even with having abused it.
I just dont have faith anymore, its like you can probably abuse this bug too before they close it and get away with it… just sad.

It’s an old trick that’s been used as to reset dungeons since 2004. If you are upset about what other people do in a cartoon video game about dragons, you’re the one who needs help.

It’s also the reason they added lockouts to stop people from doing that quite early on (patch 1.3.0 I believe, and Classic is running on a version of 1.12.0 soooo…).
Besides we aren’t talking about resetting instances, we’re talking respawning the boss while you’re still in the instance.

A complete reset is needed or they should ban absolutely everyone who used layering to their advantage, everyone with quicklayer.
This is embarassing blizzard, private servers did a better job.

Are you dense? Problem is not instance resetting but problem is instance resetting by being in dungeon and not moving inch. So let’s say you are at last boss you kill him. Now you reset instance with layering and you are still standing at last boss while boss is respawned so you kill him over and over again without clearing dungeon. You can kill ragnaros over and over again 24/7 12 times every hour
